What did you use to help combat the nausea?

For the past week I've had crummy nausea, not much actually getting sick though- what did you guys do to help relieve it? I'm a big huge wimp about feeling sick so I'm not hanging in there as well as I would like to be.

I know some tried sea bands-does anyone know where I can find one?

Re: What did you use to help combat the nausea?

  • I used Sea Bands, find them at Walgreens by the anti-naseau meds (I remember them being on the very bottom shelf when I bought them).

Sour candies helped like Jolly Ranchers.  I felt naseau pretty much day in and day out, so i just ate nonstop.  ;)  Saltines helped a lot too.  Or Goldfish.

  • Lemon is a natural anti-nausea smell/taste.. so get some lemon drops!

  • Lemon and ginger are both suppose to help.

For me chewing gum, sucking on hard candies, and just getting up and going helped out (if i laid around it was worse). GL

  • Thanks ladies, I bought some ginger ale but it didn't  help, and then I saw on baby center I think that is has to be real ginger and the ginger ale didn't even have any ginger in it.

I am going to look for those sea bands and get some lemon candies.

  • Sea Bands do work!  Ginger ale also helps calm my stomach too.

  • Sour stuff always helped me.  Sour Patch Kids were the best.  I ate them daily when I was pregnant and puking my brains out for 16 weeks straight!  Good luck!5555555

  • Ginger helps a lot of people, sea bands seem to help a lot (not me...at all...but I am sure they help mild morning sickness).  Also, saltines before you get out of bed has helped in past pregnancies for me.  I have also been told flat soda, lemon, sour candy, hot tamales candy....

If none of that helps. some prescription zofran helps a lot of people too.

  • The best thing I ever found that helped (besides drugs) is real ginger, like the stuff sushi restaurants use.  Of course, I didn't find this out until I was on the upswing of m/s!

Hang in there!  Morning sickness is no joke!

  • sea bands

    orange juice

eating first thing in the morning

  • Bonine - it's near the Dramamine at Walgreens and works like Dramamine but is safe while pregnant. It's what my doctor uses before perscribing Zofran because apparently many insurance companies don't cover Zofran very well unless they can show that other things have been tried first. It helped me live through those first 3 months. Those were miserable. Good luck and I hope you find something that helps. Nausea is awful.

  • My OB recommended 50 mg of Vitamin B6 every bedtime and the sea bands. I am not sure which one worked or if its a combo, but I'm afraid to try to take either of them away. So...I still do both and typically have no problem unless I let my tummy get too empty.
