Ideas for lunches desperately needed (for mom AND kids!!)

We are back in a major rut when it comes to lunches! Our horrifying rotation consists of chicken nuggets, hot dogs (I do comfort myself with using nitrate free varieties!:), mac and cheese, grilled cheese, PB and J and once in a while pancakes/waffles and eggs. I always wanted to be way more healthy and less boring, but while Ava will eat most fruits and veggies, there aren't a ton of quick, east main dishes she likes (she will eat stuff like spaghetti, sloppy joes, tacos, ets when I make them for dinner.) To make matters more complex, Luke still cannot tolerate dairy, so the days I do cheesy lunches for Ava, he is out. I really want to start serving things less processed and with more variety. I feel even worse because at night, when DH and I eat things the kids don't like, we usually serve them something from that sad list again. As for myself, I am so burned out on cold turkey sandwiches for lunch! If anyone has ideas of lunches you have in your rotation (either for your kids, or you, or both) I would LOVE to hear them!

  • Not sure for the kiddos but one of my favorites is an Apple/PB wrap.

Tortilla with peanut butter spread on it.  Chopped nuts, raisins, and 1/2 apple.  It's so yummy and very filling.

I also buy the pre-packaged salads from Trader Joes.
