I am going a bit overboard

We are heading to the US tonight for two weeks. I was planning on not taking very much and buying summer clothes on sale while there to bring back for the rest of the year. The issue is that I'm so excited about fall weather that I've pulled out my entire fall wardrobe and am having trouble not taking it all with me. It's probably stupid to take three pairs of boots on a two week trip, but if it's the only time all year I get to wear them I want to take advantage of it. I feel as if I'm showing remarkable restraint by not packing five pairs of boots. I doubt that I'll have any room in my suitcase to do shopping in the US, but maybe that's a good thing.

  • If you know that you are going to be in a warmer climate for some time, you could always leave some of your fall things behind and still do the shopping.  I have stuff at my parent's house that I know that I won't need here.

  • Step away from the boots! Think of all the new things you can buy with all the extra room... and have a great trip!

  • Have a great trip and happy shopping!

Try not to bring too much with you, you will regret it. Have you checked how much an extra piece of luggage will cost you for the return? On my return trip to France it was only 40 Euros, well worth it!

  • Where in the US are you headed? It's 80F in the Boston area today. I wouldn't take too many pairs of boots. Though, can you leave them in the US to make room for the stuff you buy. I'm assuming you won't need them at all in KL but I could be wrong!

  • I'm headed to Cincinnati. The weather report says it'll be in the high 50's-60's range and my mom said the leaves have already started to change. If I can wear them once it'll be worth it. I thought about using H's bag for my purchases but as we were leaving the house he asked me if I had room in my bag in case he wanted to buy stuff. It looks like we'll be buying another bag to check on the way back.
  • The last trip I didn't want to buy another suitcase, so I got a rubbermaid bin for under 10$. It holds so much and is lighter than a case, so I could put more stuff. Now I use it for storage.
  • Have a great trip!
