Dear Nest:

Thanks for advertising the Clear Blue pregnancy test.  I'm sure that's helpful for a lot of women on your boards that:  (a) can't get pregnant; (b) have been pregnant and recently suffered a loss; (c) want to get pregnant, but are waiting for any number of reasons.  *eye roll*

Re: Dear Nest:

  • If any of those apply to you or someone you know, I'm sorry to hear.

That said, are they suppose to have a list of what can or can't be advertised?  I see those ads on tv, and people who can't get pg, have m/c or can't get pg watch tv & see them, but you're not going to complain about that too are you?

What if there was an ad for beer or any kind of alcohol & someone on the Nest is a recovering alcoholic, should they not show that ad because of those people?  Or for food if someone is overweight & trying to lose weight, etc...

    Just my 2 cents.

  • I wouldn't say that any are particularly applicable to me, except for (c) just for general reasons (i.e., not married, lol).  And I was probably being a bit sensitive at that moment.  I just feel like they put quite a bit of baby-related things on this website in general...particularly where they have thebump.com to use for such advertisements.  I much prefer to see the Beautyrest mattress ad at this point in time in my life. haha.  At that moment it just reminded me of that FB breast-cancer awareness thing that went around lately, with the "I'm * weeks and craving *."  I saw a blog where a woman found it hurtful, because she was unable to have children, and the post basically made a joke out of it.  But again, it was a bit of a knee jerk reaction on my part.  I strike my comment. haha.  (but will not dd Stick out tongue)
