My poor kid had not pooped in 2 or 3 days and was gassing up a storm. His belly was totally distended and I just knew he needed to poo. He couldn't.He would sit and try but nothing. He sharted in his pants but still, nothing major. So I broke down and gave him a Fleet glycerin suppository and put him on the toilet right away. TMI but BIG ole turd came out within 30 seconds. Awesome. But I could still tell he had more because his belly was still pretty distended. About an hour later he sharted again in his pants. *sigh* Alright, I can deal with it since it was still not a ton, mostly liquid leftover from the suppository.
We go to the neighbors house right behind us to watch the game. Owen tells me he has to go to the bathroom but thinks he already did a little. We went home and yes, he did a little. I couldn't get mad since I knew he probably still had poo in his belly and this was still some aftermath of the suppository. I got him in the shower, jammies on and headed back over for a little bit longer. About 45 minutes later, Owen came running up the steps saying he had to go to the bathroom (I made sure to tell him that if he felt like he had to have gas, he probably had to poo so get to the bathroom). Right at the top of the steps, out drops a big turd. Humiliating!!! For both he and I. Poor kid was crying terribly. Needless to say, we went straight home.
I hope that's all the poo he has left. Moral of the story, Be careful when using a glycerin suppository. I don't regret it at all but dang!
Re: Owen was humiliated tonight (warning, TMI)
Poor guy. K had an accident last night too. We had some friends over and was bawling about it. Apparently, when you are having so much fun.... you forget you have to go until the very last minute and then it's too late? I was trying to tell her not to make such a big deal out of it. I could get it cleaned up and her dressed without anyone knowing about it. I went into an explanation that when you have these accidents you don't bring attention to it and quietly clean it up then nobody knows about it. It seemed to set her off more. :S
I've put her in a pullup at times that she is not feeling well as a precautionary measure.
