Anyone got some funny stories, PIPs, links, anything to share? I need a distraction and work isn't cutting it.
My mom has been in the hospital for a few weeks and just got diagnosed with pneumonia on top of it all. They put in a breathing tube and put her into an induced coma to keep her comfortable while it is in and until the pneumonia goes away. I am so worried about her and freaked out about the idea that she will wake up in a few days confused about what happened and how she missed a whole week of time. Prayers, good thoughts, whatever are also appreciated. Ugh, this sucks.
Re: blah
Oh no, bostonbaker, I'm so sorry. Sending lots of good thoughts your and your mom's way. Health stuff is so scary.
I agree that the board has been uber slow lately. I'm trying to think of stuff to post but failing big time.
I'm so sorry to hear that, bostonbaker. I hope she recovers quickly.
Have you ever checked out Hyperbole and a Half? That site always makes me laugh.
Aw, Baker, I'm sorry about your mother. Definitely sending prayers your way!
I'll do a two things Tuesday post!
Very sorry to hear about your mom. I will be thinking good thoughts.
Regarding sharing anything. I posted a cute picture and story on a different board but I'll put the link here too. It will at least be something...

Sorry to hear about your mom, Bostonbaker! I hope she gets better soon, and comes out of the coma OK! Here's one of my favorite pics of my Leo.
So sorry bostonbaker. I am keeping her and your family in my T&Ps.
I have a funny story for you: last year Doug, my pup, got skunked by Pepe as I like to call him. Pepe came back this summer and Doug would love to be BFFs with him.
About a month or so ago, Doug woke up a 5:00 am, so I was going to just let him out for a quick pee and put him in his crate (he was sleeping with me while DH was away). Because it was 5:00 am and we have not backyard neighbors, I went down with only a t-shirt on, panties, and no glasses. I am standing there waiting and I hear Doug freaking out and trying to open the gate. Sure enough Pepe was on the other side of the fence and was trying to get to him for a visit. So I had to run out into the yard with no pants on screaming to get the dog from being skunked. Not my proudest moment.
Last night I let him out again (around 9:00) and sure enough there is Pepe again. Doug tries to let himself out of the yard, so i had to quick throw on shoes and run out after him. Last night's outfit: baby blue gym shorts, a grey tank with no bra, my layign down glasses that are crooked, and navy rainboots with little whales on them.
I have seen the smae neighbor both times and am pretty sure they think I am certifiable.
Good rule. I think I will start following this as well.
We live in white trashville, so mostly I could not care less what people think (regardless of how ridiculous I myself find some of my ensembles). I've threatened to get a cricket bat to carry on the late night run with the dog; some nights, I'm not entirely convinced zombies aren't already walking among us based on some of the people wandering around.
