Baptism- what to feed10-15 people

Any ideas on what to feed 10-15 people for Ian's baptism?

Any good crockpot ideas since we'll be at church then eat right afterwards?

Thanks!

It's not really a soup, but not really a sauce either. It's in between. Very yummy and it makes a TON. I've always made the pasta separate cause I don't like soggy pasta. You can make a salad too, maybe a Caesar salad... (use Ken's Caesar dressing) and then have some garlic bread that you can just toss in the oven when you get home.

  • Any time we have to feed a bunch of people we do a nacho/taco bar.  A big crockpot full of taco meat, then dishes of cheese, sour cream, salsa, tortilla chips, taco shells.  And desserts.  Pretty easy peasy, and versatile enough that most everyone is pleased.

  • Loose meat sandwiches and potato salad?

  • BBQ chicken sandwiches, pasta salad and some veggies.  Easy.

  • We got the croissant sandwich tray from Costco for my son's baptism.  I made a fruit salad and a pasta salad to go with it.  MIL brought a fluff salad (PS, never heard of this stuff before joining DH's fam, but it is a standard at all family gatherings).  Costco sandwiches were tasty and were a decent price.  We also had a cake and cupcakes from my wedding cake lady.

  • If you have a couple big crock pots, I'd do some pulled pork in one and cheesy mashed potatoes in the other.  Get some fruit and make a fruit salad and maybe a lettuce salad?  Or you could grill brats or something the night before, then heat them back up in the crock pot the next day..maybe some peppers over them for sausage and peppers?
  • Wal-Mart sub sandwiches.  For $25, you'll have more than enough for 10-15 people, and that includes the sandwiches, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, mayo and mustard.  I love the sandwiches from Wal-Mart!  You have to cut them yourself, but then you can decide how big you want them, depending on how much other food you are serving.

This!! We've done it twice now off of B's suggestion... worked perfectly. Pair it with some pasta salad, chips, and fruit and you are set!!

  • crockpot potatoes - http://www.therookiechef.com/2010/10/crockpot-party-potatoes.html

    mini quiches from costco

    fruit

muffins and/or coffee cake and/or cinnamon rolls

This is assuming it's more brunch-ish than lunch

  • We did a 6 foot Blimpie sandwich, chips, and fruit salad.  Very easy, and easy clean up.  Then cake and ice cream!
