Anyone going to the Boston Local Food Festival on Saturday?
DH and I are hoping to go, just have to figure out some other family obligations first. http://bostonlocalfoodfestival.com/
Then there's a separate but related event on Sunday called Grilling on the Green. Tickets are supposed to be $75 for that one (which is more than we'd want to spend) but I just got a call offering $45 discounted tickets. I think they're not getting enough RSVPs, which is kind of a shame but the cost is just so high!
More detailed info from an email I got:
- Saturday, October 1, 11 am to 5 pm. Boston Local Food Festival along Fort Point in Boston.
Themed "Healthy Local Food For All!" the festival is produced by
Sustainable Business Network (SBN), and is based on the principals of
green, local and fair. This free admission and zero waste event promotes
the benefits of eating local food and offers a diversity of locally
grown and sourced dishes at affordable prices of $5 or less. The Boston
Local Food Festival is the premier event where eaters can support local
restaurants, farmers, and food producers.
- Sunday, October 2, 4:00 - 6:30. Grilling on the Green. Great sustainability-minded chefs are cooking to benefit Chefs Collaborative, a non-profit organization building a national network of chefs
changing the sustainable food landscape. We predict beautiful fall
weather (but don't worry, we'll move indoors if we need to) and we'll
enjoy live music, and seasonal, delicious food, beer and wine -- all in
the heart of Cambridge's Area Four neighborhood, at 500 Technology Square, Cambridge, near MIT! Tickets, $75, are available online or call 617-236-5200.
I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball
