need $25 baby gift

i'd like to spend about $25 to send an old friend a baby gift. haven't socialized with her in years - her wedding may have been the last time i saw her.

i was looking at barnes and noble for books, figuring shipping is free when you spend $25...but i can't decide what to get.

i just hate spending $25 on items and another $10 on shipping.

any suggestions?

Do you have Amazon prime? If so most of the things on Amazon could ship for free. I like giving a keepsake for people I don't know well. How about something like this handprint kit.

What about a couple outfits? You can ship those cheap in a flat envelope. Or you can even order from carters or wherever and ship straight to her house. Or a gift card inside a card is always nice. Or most baby items from amazon ship for free.

I have been giving a lot of Aden and Anais Muslin Swaddle Blankets as baby gifts. Amazon has some 4-packs in the $3o range with free super saver shipping. We used them every day for G's first year and beyond from swaddling, to sitting him on them at the park, to draping them over the stroller sun shade for more coverage.

You could also do a gift card. I konw that is not as "fun" as a gift but when DD was born, we got some gift cards from people we never see (like my friend's brother and his wife. They didn't need to send a gift but sent that).

I like the book idea too.

Is she registered anywhere that you can try and see like BRU or BBB? Maybe you can find something on there she didn't get
