Rick Perry and Texas info?
I can't remember who posted this (cnstars maybe?), but awhile back somebody posted about Rick Perry and all the crappy things he's done while governor. I am trying to learn about the top candidates for the GOP. I won't vote for them, but I like to be informed.

To follow-up, they did end up touching some of the overages, but not enough to prevent devastating job loss. (But then he tried to turn it around and say it was individual district's choice whether to let go of teachers or administrative staff. Someone crunched the numbers and it was IMPOSSIBLE to float those cuts through without cutting teachers- even if every district laid off *all* of their high level administrators.)
Not only that, but they refused to postpone implementation of a new state test (which is serious $$$) to ease the burden on schools and social services.
Several school districts are now in the process of filing suits against the state. Awesome.
It's Tuesday, September the 27th and Rick Perry STILL SUCKS!
And signing a bill into law that requires women who seek an abortion to look at a sonogram image, listen to the heartbeat, and hear detailed physical descriptions of their fetus at least 24 hours before the procedure.
Refusing to stand up to the state having executed a (more than likely) innocent man.
And why is he wanting to lead the country when he was just talking a few years ago about the possibility of Texas someday seceding?

I feel the same way. I frequently wonder why we can't find better candidates, for any party. I know it's money, the regular person who is a good candidate doesn't have the money to make an actual run for a position. It is frustrating.
Yup. This is why I'm pretty apathetic when it comes to politics. An average person has no chance of becoming a leader anymore. You must be rich.
