f/u to dr's appointment (kinda long)

i had my 40 weeks and 5 days dr appointment.. man i never thought i would be sitting here past due with no baby for yet another week.

this morning at 3:30 i woke up to pee and found pink blood and spotting in my pee so i immediately put on a pad. it continued but nothing heavy. i waited 2 hours to see if i had contractions but i didn't. at 5:30 i gave in and called the dr because we needed to see if it was serious enough for dh to stay home from work. he told me it was the start of something good and that if i start to feel contractions getting closer to call the office... i had no contractions during the day but some mild cramping. around 10:30 i lost my mucus plug. so i figured any day now.

dh came home early from work and we headed to my dr's appointment. i complained about my weekly symptoms of headache, back ache, top of stomach soreness and even said i was ready to go tonight if he needed me. we even talked about how the baby flipped sides from last week.. now hes on my left.. the heart beat was perfect and he did an internal and i was very high (cervix and baby head wise), somewhat thinner, and very much closed. when he moved to the little machine we saw that the baby flipped and his eyes aren't facing the top of my stomach. so we talked about if i was induced it wouldn't be a great experience and most likely would end up with a c-section. however, he doesn't want to jump yet to a c-section because i just lost my mucus plug today. and since the baby flipped its a good sign that he can come on his own.

i have an appointment next monday afternoon. i fought with the lady at the desk because she wanted me to come later in the week and told her thats not possible.  we left the office knowing that next week we will have a baby... its alittle upsetting waiting another week.. but i can still feel him stretch his body out and he still has fluid. i totally trust my dr and know he has my best interest even if i dislike him for making me wait 6 more days!

i know some you girls have been through this and know how frustrating it is to sit past your due date waiting.. thanks for all the text and messages on facebook!

Hello. I've waited here for you. Everlong<3<br>

Re: f/u to dr&#039;s appointment (kinda long)

  • Good luck! Your body is making progress, it's best to wait it out a little. :) My little girl was 12 days late. I lost my plug and started having some light contractions and wish I would've talked my ob into letting me wait until two weeks past my due date for inducing. I think those few extra days and I would've gone into labor on my own and I could've avoided my csection. He'll be here before you know it and however he comes doesn't matter as long as he's healthy. :)

  • I know they say that losing your mucus plug isn't always an indication of labor coming, but I lost mine on a Tuesday morning and Wednesday afternoon my water broke. Losing it means labor can come in within the next 24-48 hours. I don't want to give you any false hope here...but I wouldn't be surprised if you went into labor sometime tomorrow.

  • Just trust that your body will do what it needs to do. Just because you made an appointment for six days from now doesn't mean you can't go into labor on your own sooner. The bright side is that it's going to be much cooler by the end of the week so, hopefully, a tiny bit more comfortable for you (((hugs)))

  • Losing your mucus plug is progress!!! I bet you go into labor tomorrow night. Crossing my fingers. Oh, and those body stretches you feel, may just e contractions. I kept feeling them and thought the same thing but during one of my many NST the nurse told me those were in fact contractions.
  • that's good news that your dr is letting you wait and let nature take it's course for another week.  Mine was quick to induce at 40 when he thought A was big (and ended up not being so).  Fingers crossed labor starts soon for you!!
  • Just hoping you start to feel more comfortable real soon! Oh and a strong cervix is a good thing. Many blessings your way.

ITA with Jen, I mean God knows I don't know how you feel yet, however I think allowing nature to take it's course is the best for you and AJ. (please remind me of this in March) Sending you lots of labor vibes and a speedy delivery for your little man. Hang in there lady. xo
