For those saying, "I'm not sure it counts" - that is the point of this post - the big things are great and something to strive for - but most of us cannot do them every day. We *can* do the little things. Small, kind, thoughtful gestures often make another person's day way more than we realize.
Kelly, your bride may never know you hand cancelled her invitations (unless you sent one to her home for a keepsake). But every guest who gets one will have that special touch in their mailbox - a pristine, lovely wrapping for what I am sure is a beautiful invitation to an even more beautiful day. And it made you feel good to do it for her!
Charlotte - what if you DIDN'T say thank you to whomever it was that held the door open for you? They might not hold it open for the next person in need. But a sweet smile and a thank you could have made THEIR day.
It is a good thing to try to make one person's day every day. It makes the good-doer feel better and spreads a little joy. And sharing the little things helps to give us all ideas on how we can mix it up!

I volunteered with Sam's class today, helping with reading. I signed on to do it weekly, and I'm loving it.
