Glee 9/27

this adoption storyline has been terrible since season 1 when she just magically decided "oh i will take that baby" and off she went into the sunset the same day.

and now she's back to rub it in their face or try to include them?? These are teenagers, clearly they aren't emotionally ready for it.

my favorite line of tonight was "maybe i'm a bi-corn"

didn't really enjoy the showtunes though, not my thing.  Blaine is perfect for Tony though.

Re: Glee 9/27

  • i think the whole baby/quinn story is just annoying.

i loved the duet with rachael and he bio mom....i love show tunes!

  • Man, this show is so tired to me, but I still LOL at Britney and Santana. My favorite line of the night "This is toned down, in the original poster the unicorn was riding you."
  • The adoption story can end anytime. I hate Quinn. Puck made me melt though, and Mark Salling's acting has definitely improved.

My poor Kurt. I cannot believe they laughed in his face. I thought he did a great job as Romeo. Yes, his first audition was not right for what he was auditioning for, but I think he proved he is pretty darn versatile.

Blaine did great on "Somethings Coming" (apparently that something is a flood). It was sweet he didn't audition for Tony. I wonder how that will all end up? I really wanted Kurt to yell out "Yes, he will!" when they asked Blaine to read for Tony.

Too much Brittany, she's better in small doses.

I loved both Emma and Will this episode, which is something I haven't been able to say in a while.

Love that Beiste eats a whole chicken at each meal. I had noticed she always ate them at lunch. I'm glad they brought that up.

So I'm assuming Shelby will "fix" Sugar?

The skanks were threatening that girl with a plastic spork, lol.

  • I loved it as usual. I love showtunes though - to me, that's what Glee was made for.

I agree - too much Brittany. I love her, but she was so much funnier when there was less of her.

I wanted more Finn/Rachel! That one scene was just not enough.

I really loved the Puck/Quinn story line. They need to end up together.

  • Didn't Rachel's bio-mom legally adopt the baby? If so, then Quinn can't do anything so its all pointless. Time to move on with a new storyline.

    I love Blaine.

    The bi-corn line was funny.

and WHY does rachel keep telling finn he's bound for great things?? cuz...he's kind of lame. and pretty dumb. and really ought to just stick to fixing cars.

Thats what is bothering me about it, either A) she never legally adopted the baby and thats rather bizarre that she would just take her or B) its been over a year and I believe that is all a birth parent has to change there mind (I might be wrong, I only recall this from other tv shows but ya know more factual ones than glee). So why bother going there with this I mean she has no hope of getting her daughter back. She is a bratty teenager whose parents kicked her out of the house when she got preg. and she was very recently in a "gang". where as shelby is a stable adult who is willing to let the bio-parents be involved. My geuss is Puck will be on Shelby's side, which is cool but if they start to hint at those to having a thing I will be too creeped out.

Actually, the bio-mom/dad have a certain amount of time in which they can swoop in and change their minds, but I am pretty sure it is usually less than a year and it has been longer than that on this show. Of course, this show isn't exactly realistic.

  • Im not digging the showtunes and Im a drama geek. Last season I was downloading all the songs off of itunes after each episode and I haven't wanted to to do that at all so far and I know the songs.  Other than that I want more Finn and Rachel and less Quinn.

Its still been a pretty disappointing season so far, but its Glee and I love it.

  • DH actually watched this episode with me and we talked about the whole thing about Quinn getting the baby back. I don't think it's possible for all of the points listed by pps, but he suggested that maybe Shelby will see what giving up Rachel did to her life and void the adoption so that Quinn can have Beth back.

It almost makes sense. I mean, it'd be sh!tty, but I can see Glee doing it. It could explain her demands for Quinn and Puck to start acting as grown-ups (although a smart parent would only introduce stable adults anyway) and it would let her get back to NY and focus on her career instead of missing all of Beth's milestones and feeling guilty.

Either way, I think the whole thing is dumb. They shouldn't have brought Shelby back.

  • I like this season, I  love, love, love the show tunes, and I am glad to see Idina Menzel/Shelby, although I am already 'over' little miss aspergers.   I loved the  'Somewhere' duet.

I am not thrilled with Quinn, but I don't have a problem with the story line, as long as it doesn't take over the whole season.  I thought it was weirder when they acted sort of like it was n big deal.  I am sure that it is a big deal for the people involved in something like that.

I expected Shelby to back anyway, since she is Rachel's mom, and there to be something about having them be a part of Beth's life, since she missed Rachel's and would be sensitive to what they must be feeling.

  • I love showtunes and West Side Story is one of  my favorite shows.  My high school did it my senior year and I was the Somewhere voice so I was thrilled that they sang Somewhere.     However, I was very disappointed that they only had 3 songs and that all of them were solos.   Where were the group numbers?  Sad

I missed the first season - did PUCK give up his rights?  Because if he is the father and did not sign away his rights, he can contest the adoption.

I don't think they ever said if he did or not. I think its assumed he did but I suppose that could be something they bring up later to make this storyline actually make sense.

  • I am not liking the show tunes either.  But I AM looking forward to Will singing Fix You by Coldplay next week.  It gave me chills just hearing the little bit I did in next weeks episode.  That is one of my all time favorite makes-me-wanna-cry songs.

  • I liked it much better this week than I did last week.  Quinn didn't bother me as much, which is progress.  Finn though....ugh.

I love show tunes, and it makes sense that they are focusing on them this season in light of the overarching theme - the arts in education.  The creators want people to get excited about these kind of songs again, and start seeking out/supporting local productions.  It wouldn't make as much sense to have this whole "yay, arts in school!" rallying cry and then spend every episode belting out pop hits.  Plus, you just know they're going to tie West Side Story to what's going on at McKinley.

I'm over the whole Sue vs. Will thing.  It was funny during Season 1, but now it's so played out.

    This is my siggy.

This.  I know it will probably be the death of Glee, but I 100% agree.   I wish more people would get on board with what they are trying to do.  Long live the Arts!

Speaking of arts, I thought it was really funny how Quinn blamed her "downfall" on getting involved with the Fine Arts.  Lol.

I get it, but showtunes =/= the arts.  They might be included in "the arts," but they are not everything!  When I was growing up and taking piano lessons, it was all about learning classical music.  I just wanted to be able to play Billy Joel! (ok, dating myself horribly, I know).  If I had less "Minuet in G" and more popular music, I might have taken lessons for longer and been a better musician.

"The Arts" will have a better chance of "catching on" in school if there are songs that the students are really excited to sing / play (for band).  Ok, funding is needed, but you need to get the students excited.  I'm not sure that Rogers and Hammerstein are that much more elevated musically than....Aerosmith, the Beatles, Coldplay, Beyonce.....

  • I just don't want it to be all show tunes all the time. I like a mix of songs, and it sounds like that is what we are getting next week. I also didn't like that all the songs were basically solos this week, I like at least one group number an episode!

I am also really looking forward to Will singing Fix You next week. Not only do I love when he gets to sing, but I love that song and it sounds great in the preview. I can't wait for next week!

  • There's a lot I can say in response to the previous posts but....... Sleep

I'm just so bored I can't be bothered.

Considering how much and how quickly I loved this show during the first half of season 1, this may be one of my biggest tv disappointments ever! Sad

  • I love Blaine. Wow. Not only is he HAWT, but he in my opinion, is the best singer (male) of the guys.

Mark Salling (Puck) has been my favorite character since Ep. 1.

I wish Will would sing more.
