It's been kind of a rough couple weeks. I posted about my brother and an accident he had. Well he was in the hospital for about 5 days. Checked himself out against medical advice. He was at risk for seizures (which if he had one, would have killed him), and had to be watched 24/7. I got into it with my mom about this, as she was the one who drove him home. She is such an enabler. Long story. Anyway, he went to the dr. last Friday for additional CT scans and things are improving. His dr. removed his driving restriction because his risk of seizures went down due to the reduced brain swelling and reduced blood around his brain. He seems to be doing better, less pain, etc. But he's still very difficult to be around, so for the most part, I'm glad he's 3 hours away from here.
In other news, I need to find a new home for my 6 year old cat. If anyone knows of an older couple or a house without kids that would be willing to take her, please let me know. It just breaks my heart to have to find her a new home, but she is just not handling the addition of a toddler to our house (she wasn't bothered by him when he was a baby, but now that he is mobile and loud, she is highly stressed). I can't bear the thought of taking her to the humane society, where she would likely be euthanized since they are overpopulated with cats right now. She is a very sweet cat, but she needs a lot of human attention - which is why a grandma would be perfect. She is spayed, microchipped and declawed (all 4). I have contacted No Pets Left Behind, but I haven't heard back from them yet.
Re: Updates
I'm sorry about your brother. I hope he realizes he needs help and that he seeks it out.
I may know someone interested in your cat. What is she doing to show she is stressed? Has she lived with any other cats or dogs? If so, does she tend to be the dominant or submissive one? Feel free to PM me if you'd rather.
I'm sorry! That is so stressful. I really hope he seeks the help he needs.
I'm also sorry about your cat. I hope you are able to find a home for her!
First of all, I freaking suck and have never given you that recomendation we talked about - I'll have it for you tonight!
Secondly, I would urge you to give it a little time with the cat. My cat was the same way with Audrey - when she started becoming mobile and was all about touching him, running after him, etc. he was HIGHLY stressed. Remember, he humped blankets all the time!?? Anyway, now that he's gotten more used to her and the way she is you can tell he's more relaxed. Maybe just give it another 6 months or so?? You might be surprised..
I can't offer much, except for some good thoughts. And maybe a gif?
