maybe it's the hormones, but i totally cried when the deltones performed. i love that song! makes me think of the movie my sister's keeper, it was in there. i thought they were great. i could tell that ol girl was nervous, but i still think she did a fantastic job!
i LOVE the song "feels like home", so the deltones were great to me.
can we please talk about how AWFUL the collective was??? so so so bad!! the girl singing lead was TERRIBLE. they should have gone home instead of the high school kids.

I completely agree with what was said about Collective Soul. I wanted the high school kids over them.
None of the groups completely won be over either but the Deltones were the best simply based on their song choice :-)
I wasn't really blown away by the groups either. There were a few "wow" groups for me last week though, so maybe once they're all together, it'll help the show.
I was surprised they voted Messiah Men off. When they sang "Swing Low" as their swan song, I thought they should have sang THAT! It was so much better than the song they sang.
The high school groups never last past the first round, so that wasn't shocking, but I'm surprised The Collective got such rave reviews. I really didn't like the lead singer... she had the crazy eyes. I felt like she was doing an Adele impression; I wonder if that's really how she sings.
Also, the group everyone liked who sang "Feels Like Home"... I didn't like it. I love that song, but the lead sang it and everyone else hummed behind her. It was definitely not a very good group effort... to me.
I'm excited to see next week's... maybe some of the awesome groups will sing again!
the groups from the premiere go next week. and then the groups from last night go the week after that. eventually, they'll all be put together....it's how they're getting a full season out of it.

I agree with most of you in that this group of groups didn't impress me as much as the first group. I'd think the producers would want it to be a little more balanced. I REALLY enjoyed Messiah's Men too--but I wouldn't have expected them to go too far either way.
I agree with you all about the Collective. I didn't think her voice was awful--but I was MUCH relieved when the other girl came in and started singing more. THAT girls' voice was beautiful, I thought. The group should have chosen a song for HER to sing and not the Adele imitator.
I do enjoy a traditional do-wop group, so I enjoyed North Shore, but agree with you all, that unless they pull out some stops and get original. I also thought the Deltones chose an odd song to start with. I'd never heard that song before but I agree with the PP that said it was really a solo effort. She had a great voice, but that's not the kind of song I'd want as an "introduction to our group" kind of song.
