We haven't done this in awhile-real estate PIP
PIP the house for sale in YOUR CURRENT TOWN that you would move into in a heartbeat if you could!
Re: We haven't done this in awhile-real estate PIP
The town over from me has better houses, but here is my favorite in MY town:
4 beds, 3 full, 2 half baths, on FIVE acres with amazing views. Plan came from Southern Living magazine.

I love an old house
3 bed 2.5 bath, hardwoods, 3 car garage, on the reservoir (gorgeous landscaping), central a/c (rare in New England). Listed for $930k.
Here's the listing:

This is a very pricey subdivision about 5 miles north of where we live (rent) now; used to be farmland (hence the name).
house
This was the closest to what I want but there are still things I would change.
I love the kitchen:

And I really like these two in the area where I am thinking I would like to end up...
house 1
house 2
If we're talking our Barbie Dream House, then this one will do just fine, thankyouverymuch.
If we're talking reasonable may-actually-live-in-something-similar someday kind of place then I vote this one. Family friends are actually selling it and are desperate to sell since they just bought a new place (for a cool $4M) so I told my Mom to tell them if they drop the price 50%, we'll make an offer. LOL.
I love the entry and big gracious rooms:
and the kitchen but especially the breakfast room:
LOVE the ceilings and textures of that first one, but OMG the pool in the second? Yes please.
There aren't any REALLY nice houses for sale in my town right now, but I would pick this one because of the location:
