Can pumpkin anyone???

Has anyone been able to find can pumpkin? I know I read online there's another storage. At my Giant, I spoke with the manager and they said that most likely they won't be getting in this year. I'm really bummed, I really wanted to make some pumpkin bread.

If you spot cans anywhere can you please let me know. TIA!

I bought 10 cans last year when I found them bc I had heard there was a shortage but then every time I went to the store afterwards there was a ton of them. So I have a ton of them. I presume they're still good?

I bought 15 cans last week, we use them a lot for the dogs and fosters, so when I heard about the shortage I stocked up! I did still see plenty yesterday when I ran to the store though.

We bought last year because 1) we like to have our pumpkin beer brewed for October, so we need to start brewing in August/September and you usually cannot get canned pumpkin until late September/early October and 2)we thought there would be a shortage

Shoot! I only picked up 2 cans of organic pumpkin at Safeway last week. I should have bought more!

Trader Joe's usually has them as well.

I think we have one can left from last year, but this reminds me I have to look this weekend. I LOVE adding pumpkin to stuff, cupcakes (instead of oil) pancakes, waffles. I LOVE fall!!

So it looks like maybe Harford County is running low. I'll be in AACo today, so I'll swing by the grocery store there.

They had some at wegmans hunt valley. I am going to wegmans bel air today and will check. I need to keep some in the house for the dogs (and for baking). If all else fails though, Williams sonoma makes a few great pumpkin products, like cupcakes, and I think bread too

I didn't even think to look at Wegmans on Saturday, but it was a tad bit crazy there. If you spot any today at the Bel Air store can you let me know.

I bought the Libby's Pumpkin Bread baking kit in Sam's Club a few weeks ago. Included two cans of pumpkin.

I don't think that this year's pumpkin shortage (which is a result of Hurricane Irene) is going to affect this year's canned pumpkin supply.

The canned pumpkin is probably from pumpkins that were harvested last year- in order for them to be in stores now through November.

You can also make pumpkin puree...roast a pumpkin in the oven...scoop out the insides and put it in a food processor. I did it last year with our leftover pumpkins and it made some delicious bread!

Giant in Annapolis (Riva Festival Shopping Center) had tons and Trader Joe's had tons of the organic kind.
