Can you check if someone's been into your FB page?

This has nothing to do with my earlier post that has been cleared up by the way. Dh doesn't want anyone to be able to see his pics or comments. But he didn't mind giving me his password and even opened it infront of me to show all his pics that was in there. I told him I don't really care, but it's when it's all so secretive that it becomes weird. He felt that I sometimes scrutinize him for childish comments or pics but has nothing to hide. All cleared up:)

But here's to my other question. I am obviously not good with FB but neither is my best friend. She thinks that there's a way to see if someone has been into your account, is that true? Not by looking at "history" but you can actually see how many times your page has been opened? I told her that I don't think that's possible, but who is right here?

Re: Can you check if someone's been into your FB page?

  • Are you asking if you can see who has checked out your profile page? No, you can't. You can set your profile page to be visible only to your friends if you are worried about outsiders viewing it. Same with the photos. You can lock who can and can't see your photos.

  • There are apps you can add that will tell you who hits your page, and how many times.  But he/you would have to control who can see what (pics, wall, etc) on his account.

"They say with time it gets better. Not true. With time you only get used to it."
  • I found this on-line. Apparently there is nothing that works, apps wise.

"By now, you've most likely seen the many apps and Web services claiming to let you see who's viewing your Facebookprofile. Is your college ex checking up on you? Is someone from work scrolling through pictures of your beach vacation? Are your parents secretly peeking in on your private life? These apps promise the answers.Unfortunately, they don't deliver. Not a single one of them.

You can be 100 percent certain that each and every app that says "See who views your profile!" or "stalker tracker" or anything else like that is virus-laden junk. These apps would like you to cough up your Facebook password, or they might install the ability to spam your friends via your Facebook wall."

  • Well, no I meant more like if someone has my pass word to my own page. Can I go in to see if anyone else has checked my account/page? Is that even possible?

(I guess you can check if someone's been on your email account too)

Well, you can kind of do this.  Log in and go to Account Settings --> Security.  Under "Active Sessions" you can see where you are currently logged in (for example, mine shows that I am logged in on my computer, and that I have an active session on my phone).  Obviously, this will only work if the other person is currently logged in.

You can also click "Recognized Devices" to see what devices were used to log in to your computer...but I'm not sure if you can just skip that when you log in from an unrecognized device, so that might not help either.

This will depend on your email account.  IIRC, you can see active sessions in gmail, similar to Facebook, but I am not aware of any way to view a log of activity.

And ditto Switzerland.  There is no way to see who views your Facebook page; don't install any of those apps.

  • Thanks for explaining it but I must be a little slow:) As I understand it I take it that the only way I can for instance see if anyone has been on my page and if they have my pass word to get in. Is if I'm logged in at the same time as they are and I would to go onto "Account Settings" etc? But other than that, I can't go in afterwards to check if anyone has been on my page? Sorry for being slow.....

For the first part I explained ("Active Sessions"), yes, you would have to be logged in at the same time.

For the second part ("Registered Devices"), in theory, if Jane Doe logged in and when it prompted her for a device name, she typed "Jane's computer," it would show on your registered devices list along with the date it was added (and, depending on your settings, you should have received an email).

But, no, there is no log or anything that will show when and where someone logged in on your account.

  • If that is even a concern, why not just change the password?
