Can someone explain these glitter ornaments to me - LIP
I've been obsessed with these since I first saw them. I have a few questions and maybe someone here that's done them can give some answers. What is it about floor cleaner vs some sort of adhesive spray? Is the floor cleaner sticky, how does the glitter not just fall to the bottom of the ornament after it's dry? Can any floor cleaner be used (or any cleaner for that matter) or does it have to be Pledge? WTH do you find this cleaner, I've looked at 2 Walmart's (since that's where the blogger said she found it), Target, and Home Depot.

This person used mop and glo. I think you just need an acrylic based floor cleaner.

Stand up for something you believe in.
I did them 2 years ago. I got the floor wax at target. The glitter really does stick to the wax. They looked just as good when I took them out of storage last christmas.
Very easy and very pretty.
I should have tried the floor cleaner!
I went ahead and bought the specific glitter glue thing from Michaels (about $4.99). I made two ornaments and the second one turned out better than my first try! The glitter glue gets tacky really fast and so you have to work really fast in swishing the glitter around inside, otherwise, you'll end up with bald spots and extra glitter.
I'm torn on trying to do more of them. Maybe a smaller ornament than I've tried, but it's definitely a quick craft.

2 years of TTC, Seeing RE Feb 09, 2 medicated TI cycles - BFNs, 3 medicated IUIs - BFNs, back to medicated TI cycles until IVF approval, IVF approved in March 2010.
BFP on last medicated TI cycle.
#1 - it still has glitter and liquid in it after two weeks. Don't know how to get the glitter to stick and cover more. Adding more glitter glue doesn't seem to help.
#2 - Worked a lot quicker in adding the glitter.

I made these two years ago and could not find the correct floor wax for the life of me. So I just used an old can of hair spray that I had. I sprayed it in for a few seconds, rolled it around to coat and then put the glitter in. It worked really well and two years later the glitter is still all stuck! I think hairspray is a good solution if you already have it on hand.
I also did the same technique with clear plastic bulbs so that I can hang them lower on the tree ( for baby proofing) and they turned out just as cute.
Me too. I bought a bottle of hairspary from the dollar store and it worked great.
