QOTD - Inspired by "Up All Night" (no spoilers)

What is your typical "lounge wear" around the house?  Is it based totally on comfort, or do you attempt to be stylish at all?

Re: QOTD - Inspired by "Up All Night" (no spoilers)

  • I'm all about yoga pants and t-shirts.

I work from home and my routine is get up, throw on the above gear, work a couple of hours, work out at lunchtime and then shower - and then get REALLY dressed up in a pair of jeans and a clean t-shirt.  Sometimes I'll even throw on a sweater... but that is only either when DH is not traveling or when I have to leave the house for something.  Otherwise it is yoga pants 24/7.

  • most of my clothing choices revolve around comfort, especially now that I SAH & my p/t job is outdoor manual labor.

When I want to be "fancy" I wear capris/shorts/skirt/pants from lucy and a t-shirt.  Otherwise, it's yoga pants or, worse yet, maternity gauchos.  Yikes, right?!?!  I have made more of an effort to apply make up every day though.  even if it's just foundation or tinted moisturizer & mascara.

eta: i am not pregnant.  i just find the maternity gauchos really comfortable.  i would wear my maternity jeans if i didn't tear a hole in the leg. although, they probably wouldn't stay up.

  • My typical loungewear consists of yoga pants (or capris if it's warm) and a tank or t-shirt. If I'm feeling really lazy, I'll change into pajamas when I get home from work. Embarrassed  My rationale is that I'm not going anywhere before bed time, so what's the point of changing clothes twice?

  • Totally based on comfort.  Read: pretty ugly/ill-fitting.  Sorry DH.

Wife, Musician, Fed, WW-er, and Mom of three little kids - not necessarily in that order.
  • Comfort all the way. Same for H. I'll alternate between yoga pants and a t-shirt and this t-shirt dress my mother bought me years ago. The dress is, ahem, one size fits all. Which is true only in regards to the fact that I could be 3x as big and fit into it. So, absolutely in no way stylish.

This, with addition of apologizing to the occasional neighbor who sees me take out the recycling.

  • Yoga pants/yoga capris/leggings and a t-shirt or tunic, if it's chilly, a cardigan.

    I would say it's a pretty stylish.

  • Sweat pants (I'm not cool enough to have yoga pants) and a soft t shirt (and cardigan) if it's cold.
  • I'm all about the pj pants when lounging.  I usually change into them after the dog's 9pm walk and wear them the rest of the night/ to sleep.

If it is a weekend I'll upgrade to yoga pants or jeans.

  • I like the lucy pants (normal or capris) and a t-shirt.

  • Yoga pants and T-shirts.  This is what I wear to bed so you might as well call it my pajamas.  I usually change while the kids are getting their bath from Dad so I am comfy the rest of the night.
  • I usually wear yoga pants, a tank top and a long sleeve tshirt over the tank. It's extremely comfortable, but also looks cute. It's not so much that I'm trying to be stylish, but I'm trying not to be a man repeller ;-)

    THIS

I thought I was actually pulling off a cute/sexy/casual thing with my new Walmart lounge pants and tank till DH started making fun of my high waters. Stupid things shrunk up!

  • I'm usually in capri pajama pants and a tshirt around the house.  Every once and awhile, I'll wear a house dress (gah!!) So more comfort than anything.  When the hubs is around, I "try" to be more stylish....
  • Yoga pants all the way.. I love them and yes I even run errands in them, I have no shame (or sense of style...)
  • I get to dress causally for work, so I don't always change when I get home. On the weekends, I'm all about the yoga pants and t's when we are just hanging around the house. I try to make an effort to at least change out of my pj's when I wake up! Some of my yoga pants/running pants are kind of cute, but I have to admit that most of my t-shirts are old event shirts which are pretty shapeless.
  • I alternate between several options. If I'm hot it's my sweatpants that I trimmed to make capri's (stylin) and a tank top. If I"m cool its capri or regular sweatpants and a t-shirt or long sleeve t-shirt and if I'm cold it's a velour suit. Oh yes I said velour suit, my husband is NY Italian so I can get away with it! However if I leave the house I will change into a sundress in the summer or jeans and a nicer shirt at other times. I feel as though my grnadmother has taken over my mind at those times.

This is hysterical.  For Christmas one year when DH and I were first together, he bought me a velour "outfit".  I was a little bit like "WTF" and a lot of bit like "FVCK YES!" I asked him what made him pick this, and he said, no joke "you're NY Italian, isn't that what all of you wear?"

    Hilarious.

  • Mostly comfort.

But I will reassess if I find myself completely clashing matching my red Red Sox shirt with my orange UVA butt shorts.

In the summer I do wear tank tops that show a decent amount of cleavage. This makes DH happy. But I mostly do this to cool off.

    i completely agree

if i know we're just hanging out at home i'll wear my lululemon yoga pants and a t-shirt. though i've recently decided that i need a new pair of yoga pants soon as mine are showing their age and i cannot be going out in public with them anymore. i used to wear them for a quick grocery store run. gym in my building, lounging at home, fine.

  • After work - sweatpants and a t-shirt or hoodie sweatshirt (just depends on the time of year)

Weekends/days I don't work - I get dressed for the day so what I put on depends on what I have going on. Most of the times it is jeans and a top.

  • When it's warmer, gym shorts and a tee or tank. In the cooler months, sweatpants or leggings with a tee. I rarely wear long sleeves because it's always so warm in our place in the winter, but that may change in the new place.
  • Honestly, it depends if I want sex or not. haha! If yes, then I will wear something skimpy, but still soft cotton. If no or ambivalent, then lounge pants and a tank/long sleeve shirt. I am ALWAYS wrapped up in a blanket at home, even in mid-summer.

While we are not Italian, we are NY/NJ and my mom buys at least one of these each season for DD.

Awesome!  We do this for my niece and nephew since my SIL makes fun of our velour!

But it's so true!  When DH wears his with his gold chains, white undershirt, and driving slippers it's like he walked out of a mob movie!

We will rock the velour together SSW!

  • PJs around the house.  This includes a pair of cotton shorts, sweat pants or just straight up plaid pajama pants.  I typically only wear ON knit tops so I'm usually ok in those.

What is sadder is that my jeans are getting tighter - I used to lounge around in just my jeans but now I get in the door after errands and it's straight into the shorts.

My DH drives me crazy. He'll usually stay in his work clothes till he goes to bed.  For some reason it annoys me.  Get comfortable already!

  • Dude, I *wish* my bum around clothes were half way as cute as Christina Applegate's. Mine may have started out like that but are now covered in holes and stains. Throw in some sexy t-shirts from work events and a side of slippers that resemble dead animals and that about covers it.
  • I just got the MOST COMFORTABLE pair of Adidas spandex track pants... I've been wearing them around the house for like the past week.  I probably need to wash them.  LOL.
