We were extremely lucky that our house sold quickly. It was in a desireable neighborhood with no other houses for sale at that time in the sub. It was pretty updated and very clean. I touched up all of the paint too so it looked move in ready. It was a big lot relative to our neighborhood and it was in a great location in the sub. We did price it right, even though it was a financial blow to us. The market is what the market is.....even though it stinks. We had to take a loss on the house but had no choice as we were moving out of state. If you over price it, it will not sell. Make sure your pricing is in line.
Thanks, everyone, for the responses! Good to see a variety of answers. I know that every instance is different, but I just was curious on what others' experiences were/are.
Congrats to the sellers who sold quickly and good luck to the rest of us!
