My lunch story

This also includes another brag post about working for the best company ever Stick out tongue

Today we were celebrating a major accomplishment by going out to lunch. Our boss surprised us with a limo to take us there and champagne en route. It was pretty baller. Then we went to the Casa Marina for lunch which was great.

So I posted a pic of the beach with the caption "View from our celebratory lunch" and I got about 3 people immediately asking if I was pregnant. Good grief, it's like the only thing a woman in her mid 2Os has to celebrate is a baby!

Re: My lunch story

  • I saw the pic! Congrats on having a great career and not being pg! You really do work for a great company.

  • In all seriousness, I cannot even imagine having things like that happen at my job.  I'm really excited for you that you get to do cool work stuff like that.

I also and relate to the PG talk.  I have seriously had a coworker pretty much tell me that if we don't get on it that my uterus is going to dry up and I'm going to be SOL.

  • They do that kind of stuff for us at my work all of the time....only the ride is a school bus, the drink is a carton of milk and the destination is teenage hell (HS teacher high five!)  Anyway, in all seriousness brag all you want girlie, we all can live vicariously through you Party!!!

    Tongue Tied That's awful.

Thanks for letting me gloat (not that you had a choice). It is seriously awesome especially considering that I came from a job that was so horrific I still have nightmares about it.

  • Your job rocks. I know you work your butt off to so congrats on being such a rockstar. Oh, and I saw the pregnancy comments and definitely had the same reaction. Apparently that is all we have to look forward to at our age...people are stupid.

  • God forbid you have career goals.

Congrats on doing such a great job!

  • FWIW, I figured it was something with your work :) Congrats!

Also, even now that I have a child, I get the 'when are you having more?!?!?' comments, so I'm pretty sure that if I ever say I'm celebrating, people will assume it's #2. It really is annoying...

  • I get those questions if I ever decline having a drink. I don't like to call people out even when I suspect it because I figure it's their business when they want to announce.

That lunch sounds awesome by the way! People in my office never even go out for lunch at all, much less get treated to it.
