Cleaning hairspray off of tile?

Hey gals - I have a steam mop that otherwise does a great job, but I'm noticing that I must have hairspray build up in the bathroom as the tile floor still feels a little sticky even after I mop in there.  Can you recommend a cleaner that is safe to use on tile but strong enough to get the hairspray off?

Thanks!

Re: Cleaning hairspray off of tile?

  • Have you tried scrubbing with warm water & soap? I would think that would be safe for the tile.

  • A very light scrub with a magic eraser should do it.

  • I get a funky buildup on my linoleum in my bathroom from hairspray, and my steam mop just seems to make it gunky.  So I do a spray of my 7th Gen all purpose cleaner first, let that sit, then wipe it down and then steam.
