MIL vent!

My MIL keeps Tyler during the day and we pay her very good money to  keep him.

So she was going to join us on our school field trip along with Tyler to the zoo tomorrow and she decided that he was too clingy to me(duh, I am his mom) and she did not want to spend the gas money to meet us there.

Keep in mind that I work at very laid back private school and my boss is going and is totally fine with me holding Tyler when he wants me to plus we have 11 kids going and 6 chaperones.

She also is complaining about paying for gas to get her there. Hello....we are paying you very well and part of the deal is that I wanted her to expose him to different things besides just the store!!

Ugg...vent over!

Re: MIL vent!

  • Offer to give her gas money.
  • I think she is lucky she gets paid at all..Dont most grandparents help out in exchange for spending time with their grand children.. I dont have kids, so I wouldent know.
  • I did offer to pay gas and to buy her lunch but then she came up with more excuses!

We are paying her a 1,000 a month so I think gas money should not be an issue.

$1000 a month is very inexpensive for 1 on 1 child care.  A nanny would cost at least double that.  Maybe you need to sit down and talk about your agreement.  If she's not willing to do the things you want her to do with your child it may be time to look at other options.

We have discussed this kind of things before. Bad thing is that my inlaws are on a very fixed income and rely on this money right now.
