quick update (br)
I just thought I'd do a quick peek in and share some updates since I was too late to join the bump update post... (congrats Beth!!!)
So last week at 5w3d I had my first u/s. We saw a gestional sac and yolk sac, and the doctor and tech's were please with the progress. This week my symptoms are starting to kick in a bit more (I dry heaved this morning, but I'm pretty sure it was more nerves because we had our 2nd u/s). I'm 6w3d and we were hoping to see the heartbeat this week.
Well. There are two. However, Twin B is definitely far behind Twin A in progress/growth (half the size). The yolk sac is large and irregular which the tech said usually is an indicator of something wrong genetically. It looks like I'll be experiencing vanishing twin syndrome. They assured me that the loss or reabsorption of Twin B will not have an affect on Twin A, who by the way has a tiny little flicker of a heart. They are happy with Twin A's progress though I appear to be a few days behind, though they had zero concern about that.
Any T&P or vibes you can spare that Twin A survives and grows to be a healthy happy baby would be really appreciated.
