I'm sick, started today. Three of our secretaries at work were sick all last week, with some nasty bug, so I'm sure that's what I've got. I'm really glad it held off long enough for E's bday dinner last night with friends, and am sort of glad it's happening while I'm off for a couple days for the holiday. At least I'm not taking off extra days this way.

But so I asked E to go to the store for me... for Sudafed, Airborne, tissues, orange juice, soup, and cake. When I'm sick I often crave cake.

Well, he knows I'm trying to diet, so far successfully (even did 20 minutes of zumba today through this sickness), so he got me a box of individually wrapped Hostess cupcakes. As he put it: cake AND portion control.

I love him.

That is so sweet. I sent DH to the store for cake once, and he came home with a (very dry) brownie.

How does he live with you and not know that brownie =/= cake and that they need to be really, really fudgy even when you're going for a brownie? Was this when you first met?

My fingers are crossed for Piper too, Marcy. Nothing worse than a sick baby. It breaks my heart to know that all they know is they're in pain and have no idea what's happening.

Mmmmm...cake.

Mom made us brownies this week. She decided that staying with us, she's burning a lot more calories because of keeping up with Nate, so brownies would be allowed. Smile

Riss - Sadly, this was maybe 2 months ago. He was looking at the wrong section in the grocery store and didn't see the cake. Of course, he didn't read the little label that said "BROWNIE".

And he stays out of the kitchen. He always asks what it is that I have made.

Oh, in his defense, the brownie was huge, and covered in chocolate frosting and m&ms. So it kinda looked like a piece of cake. Sure.

Oooooooooooh, one of those deceptive frosting-ed brownies. Well that wasn't fair to him at all. Neither was the trick that most brownies hidden by frosting are dry. At least he tried.
