Well, I finally did it...
... I broke down and went to Victoria's Secret today and got fitted for a bra. I am not a huge fan of getting underwear or anything that could be considered "Sexy". So I usually avoid that store like the plague.
But something needed to be done. Turns out I have been measuring myself wrong this whole time. (Go figure) What a difference one size makes! I may not hate my figure so much now that I don't have to struggle with stupid bras throughout the day. I guess I will find out how great it is tomorrow. It is a cold night in hell tonight, that I actually bought a VS bra. LOL.
Re: Well, I finally did it...
I've always found the chicks who are supposed to be the "bra sizing specialists" at VS to be incompetent.
Last time I was there I got badgered into getting sized again, and they tried to tell me my DD boobs were C's....Yeaaaaah not even close.

I'm also a 34D and was told this was the solution to my problem when the rare 34D isn't in stock. It.IS.NOT.the solution. I was getting quadraboob and the band kept slipping. I followed this advice for years. I finally got the 411 when I watched What Not to Wear and they explained the side of my boobs should not go past my rib cage.

Love that show. That show is why I decided to get measured again at a place other than VS.
I learned from Oprah that just because you are measured to be a certain size, doesn't mean it'll actually fit you. For example, my sister's boobs are bottom heavy, mine are not, so even though we measure the same, she ends up with a big gap at the top of her cup, so for her, it's actually beneficial to go down a cup size and sometimes up a band size. It's more about how it fits when it's on, band is level, etc, than whether the stupid tag matches to what those nitwits think.
I think it's weird that the VS girls measure with the tape in a huge diagonal criss-cross up and around my boobs. That's not how I wear my bra and I'm fairly confident that's not how the sweat shop workers measure when they sew the bras.
I think your sister and I are similar. I went down a band size (Same cup size though) and it's made all of the difference in the world so far.
But I will say that the person helping me yesterday wasn't terrible. She gave me a few sizes to try on after fitting me, saying that each body type is different. Their measure system was a little strange though.
I am not a lifetime shopper at VS by any means, but it wasn't as bad as I always pictured it.
