Re: The Friday Five
1. When did you get your first cell phone? My parents didnt think I needed one, but I told myself I wanted one before I left for Maryland, moreso for safety reasons than anything, so 2002
2. How old were you at the time? 20 years old
3. What type of phone was it? It was a Nokia 5110 -- everyone had it, and I couldn't wait to get it so that I could personalize the faceplate.
4. What type of phone do you have now? I currently have an iPhone 3Gs... I will be upgrading to the iPhone5 when it comes out next month *crosses fingers*
5. Do you prefer calling or texting/mailing? It depends. I'm not really a fan of chatting on the phone for no reason, but if I have an important question that needs an immediate answer, I will call. Otherwise, I will text and/or email.

1. 2001-ish?
2. I think 15
3. Good question. I think it was an analog Motorola. Old school.
4. LG Ellipse
5. Texting for little things, calling for more detailed things
1. 1999
2. 12
3. Nokia something or other...the really big clunky one, with the green screen.
4. iphone 4
5. i would much rather text/email to most people. I reserve calls for family and close friends.
Oh, I just looked it up!
I had Nokia 3210.
1. When did you get your first cell phone? Christmas 2000. It was a mandatory for me driving, and since I had a newly obtained driver's permit, I got a phone.
2. How old were you at the time? 15 1/2 years old
3. What type of phone was it? It was a Nokia, but not the one everyone else had. Can't find the model number, but this is it:
4. What type of phone do you have now? I have a Blackberry Bold 9700
5. Do you prefer calling or texting/mailing? It depends. I'd rather talk to family members (mom, grandma, etc.) because my mom is annoying via email and my grandma doesn't text or email. I'd rather make plans with friends via text.
Stand up for something you believe in.
I lied, mine was a Nokia, not Motorola
Like this:
It was my Moms old phone

Cell phones
1. When did you get your first cell phone? 2001
2. How old were you at the time? 17, my dad got it for me for my birthday that year.
3. What type of phone was it? a Nextel, no clue what model.
4. What type of phone do you have now? Blackberry Curve
5. Do you prefer calling or texting/mailing? texting for quick questions or confirmations, phone calls for anything that takes more than 5 sentences.
1. When did you get your first cell phone?
2003, the morning of my 16th birthday before school
2. How old were you at the time?
16
3. What type of phone was it?
(I had to google it) a Nokia 3560!
4. What type of phone do you have now?
Well, since we just 'downgraded' from iphone 3Gs, to save money this winter, I now have a samsung focus, which is a windows phone! (but we still have the iphones, which now work like ipod touches)
5. Do you prefer calling or texting/mailing?
Texting. All the way. If I could text all of my important/boring calls instead of walking through automated calls or talking to dumbos, I would most certainly do it every time.
1. When did you get your first cell phone?
2000.
2. How old were you at the time?
16.
3. What type of phone was it?
It was a gold Audiovox phone. I remember being really upset that I couldn't get the Nokia phone with the changeable faceplates.
4. What type of phone do you have now?
Blackberry Curve.
5. Do you prefer calling or texting/mailing?
I'm a texter. I am on the phone all day at work, so I don't really like to be on the phone when I'm at home.
ETA: double post
1. When did you get your first cell phone?
2000 or 2001
2. How old were you at the time?
20
3. What type of phone was it?
The chunky Nokia one, like Michelle PIP'd.
4. What type of phone do you have now?
Blackberry Bold
5. Do you prefer calling or texting/mailing?
I'm more of a traditional phone calling person, but I find myself texting more and more. But catching up with good friends can not be done by text, in my opinion.
1. When did you get your first cell phone?
Freshman year of HS.
2. How old were you at the time?
14
3. What type of phone was it?
It was an LG. I was excited to have a phone, but bummed it wasn't one of the faceplate Nokias. It was a pretty blue, though.
4. What type of phone do you have now?
Blackberry Curve or whatever. I don't really like it. When I switch out of my current role, I'm downgrading back to my LG enV. I don't like fancy phones.
5. Do you prefer calling or texting/mailing?
Texting. It's fast and I hate talking on the phone.
