BR: Question for any BumGenius users
I have all our cloth diapers now, and we are using BumGenius 4.0's. The stickers on them say to pre-wash six times with like colors. SIX times...really? We have a bunch of colors, mostly all light. The darkest we have are clementine and the darker green (not mint).
-Do you think I can just wash them all tog. and not separate them out?
-How did you do your pre-wash before baby? Six times? Something else?
-Can you use the Shout Color Catcher with them? I'd assume no, but thought I'd ask. http://www.shoutitout.com/en-US/Products/Pages/shout-color-catcher.aspx
We are using Allen's Naturally powder for washing all baby items.
Re: BR: Question for any BumGenius users
I only wash them once before use. I don't use a color catcher and have not had much bleeding. The only one that did bleed a little was the zinnia diaper. And just onto itself (the velcro tabs were a little pink).
Really only natural fibers need to be washed many times.

I think I only washed mine once. MAYBE twice. Six times is ridiculous for BGs--I only did that with pre-folds, which really need to be prepped.
And I don't recall ever separating any of the colors, and haven't had any bleeding problems. With that said, we only have like three BGs with the bold colors (they released them after we had already built up most of our stash).
I would just make sure to wash on cold right now. Eventually, you'll obviously want to add a hot wash (once they're covered in poop and pee!) but for now, cold is fine to prep them and will prevent bleeding.
