I've noticed listings lately that say "tastefully decorated" or "beautiful decor."
They're not selling the decor, people!!!
The only justification of this I can see is that nice decoration helps buyers imagine what it could look like if it were theirs. But that's kind of a stretch.
Re: Random MLS pet peeve
Maybe I'm wrong, but I always thought that saying "tastefully decorated" or "beautiful decor" referred to paint choices and finishes, not necessarily furniture, but things that stay in the home. For instance if someone chose top of the line countertops, sinks, etc when redoing the kitchen they might have better "decor" than someone who chose the standard stainless steel sink, etc.
However, to the PP who mentioned what realtors can't say, don't you wish "craptastic" was in their vocabulary?? It would be so helpful!
Personally I hated words like "quaint" which meant teeny tiny or "fixer-upper" which meant total craphole or "unique" which meant odd layout or crazy color scheme.
