Anyone going to see 50/50?
Come back and let me know if it's a big tearjerker. I love both the actors, but I don't know if I want to spend a rare date night at the bottom of a tissue box lol

Re: Anyone going to see 50/50?
I haven't seen it, but I saw an interview w/ Seth where he said that this movie came about because of all the cliche cancer/sick movies that are out there (and are tearjerkers). He said that he and his friends experience was nothing like those movies and they wanted to show a side to this that might resonate w/ people more than the tearjerker/ death bed movies.
Not saying it won't have it's moments, but this explanation of it makes me think it's not a huge tearjerker.

I haven't see it, but I don't believe it's going to be a real tear jerker based on the interviews of Seth Rogan.
The movie is based on a true story with a little fiction for entertainment value. With that said, the guy who gets cancer in the movie is actually based on Seth's friend who got cancer. For the record, that friend is still alive so there should be no death bed scenes.
Additionally, the real friend who got cancer (sorry I don't remember his name) actually joined Seth in some of the interviews for the movie and he stated that the movie is suppose to be a funny take on coping and dealing with cancer.
I plan on seeing it and don't expect too many tears unless they are created by laughter.
