I'm a faithful side sleeper even before I got pregnant. I have never really been able to sleep on my back or tummy.
Since getting pregnant I feel like my hips are getting really sore from side sleeping. Like on the outside. I know the hip pain from pregnancy but this is on the outside. I'm not laying on them any longer than I normally would have. I switch side to side all night. I feel like they are bruised on the outside even though I can't see anything.
Any recs? I've only gained a pound so its not like its extra weight yet, but this are changing in the front so I'm just wondering its just that? I have no clue so thought I"d ask! Thanks ![]()
Re: Side sleeper
This happened to me. As my husband put it, I slept a bed of pillows. I shoved many pillows between DH that I ended up leaning as though I was sort of sleeping on my back but not really, since they tell you not to sleep on your back.
It helped. Have you also slept with pillow between your legs?
I sleep on my left side every night.. on the couch
Like PP said, pillow between your knees... I also keep a blanket that I have under me just for extra cushion. I get super sore.
Check out crunch mama prenatal yoga, it's helpful
The many joys of pregnancy!
I second seeing a chiropractor. They can give you sleeping tips as well.
love is for every her, love is for every him, love is for everyone
When it got really bad at the end I slept on a sleeping bag (in our bed, I just put it under me). That helped cause it added extra cushioning. And I did the pillow between my legs as well.
Married the love of my life 6/3/06
Became a family of three 8/25/09
I'm really glad we have a King bed because we had SOOO many pillows around me by the time B was born!
I had a body pillow that I folded into 3rds... the "top" 3rd was under my tummy. The other 2/3 were the folded part and between my knees, and then I had another pillow on top of the body pillow. Nights that I wanted to lay on my back a bit, I put another 2 pillows behind me (unless DH was home, and then I reclined onto him!).
I also saw a chiropractor regularly and did water aerobics 2-3 times a week until 37 weeks when my OB said no more exercise.
