Weekend Plans!

What is everyone up to this fine fall weekend?

Today - football game tonight - it's 8th grade night AND senior night, so I am trying to reserve all the strength and patience I can b/c putting those 2 events together kind of sucks. (8th grade night is when the 2 MS bands come play with us in the stands and see what marching band is all about - it's our huge recruiting event and helps us out a lot, I just don't have the patience for it when I am *this* pregnant, haha!)

Tomorrow - band competition at the HS. This is our first home show, but makes for a long day. Bands will be performing from 3:30 until we go at 9:20 (we don't compete, we perform in exhibition which is nice for the kids b/c they get a huge crowd!!). Long day, but I'm going to be a spectator most the day, which I will enjoy. I was going to be the Auxilary (color guard) Judge, but with my due date so close the band director and I decided it would be best to get another judge *just* in case.

Sunday - church, house things, lots of walking (to help my body along)

Of course all of this could change if the LO decides to show up instead ;) (lets hope, I have one more week to make progress/go into labor before I have to schedule an induction b/c of my GD).

Re: Weekend Plans!

  • Friday: Cleaning marathon until my family arrives!  I am leaving work in a little bit to do this.  Tonight- I am making parmasean crusted filet mignon for dinner.

Saturday:  Making breakfast for the family & then taking at least my mom on a tour of the college I teach at & then going to lunch with my BIL who is also coming in for the day,  then some shopping with my mom & maybe watching some football.

Sunday: Who knows!   I don't know when everyone is leaving.

  • Today:  No plans.  I am still feeling really crummy and my Dr. isn't in again until Monday so I am literally just laying around-haven't even gotten out of my pjs yet.

Tomorrow:  I have a hair appointment at 2:30 and then our 10 year class reunion is tomorrow night.  I am getting excited for it but I am hoping I feel better cause it's an hour away and right now I am feeling so crappy I just don't feel like going anywhere.

Sunday:  We are going to MIL's house to visit and she needed some stuff from me for a surprise gift she is making for our baby shower next weekend (she needed a blanket or stuffed animal from when I was a kid and a piece of clothing from when I first met DH...not sure what she's doing/making, but we'll see!)

Wickesgirl:  I am getting so excited for you-won't be too long now!!!  Also I like reading your posts-I used to play clarinet in marching band.  DH always calls me a band nerd but I had so much fun with all my friends in marching band in high school!

Ellen:  Parmasean crusted filet mignon sounds really good! Care to share the recipe?

Daisy,  I also played clarinet for 4 years in the HS marching band, then switched to guard when I went to college (I had been spinning in my HS winterguard for 3 years prior). Now I'm a color guard director/instructor. I married a fellow band nerd ;) and I'm glad b/c he is really supportive of me being an instructor for the fall & winter seasons and enjoys helping out, because it keeps him involved.

As for baby, I was told that if I'm still pregnant at my appt next Friday we will have to schedule an induction for the next week b/c they worry about letting GD patients go past 40 weeks (even though I'm not on insulin, which is a small bummer b/c I'm still controlling with diet!!)...so 14 days or less until this little one is here (though I am really hoping to go into labor on my own)

  • I have had a crazy week. Puppy had a reaction to the rabies vaccination and I got a badly infected mosquito bite, which warranted a trip to Urgent Care. My computer deleted my user profile and I had to figure it out via smart phone (not fun!). Today, my school had smoke in the library and computer lab from an air conditioning unit that was not working properly. We spent an hour and a half outside (till the smoke had cleared) and while the fire trucks where there we had a teacher that started having a severe asthma attack and got taken away in an ambulance. Then, I started a very messy paper mache globe project with my class at the end of the day. They were great, but it made a mess and I spent an hour after school doing some clean up.

Most of my weekend is dedicated to cleaning, laundry, and homework for my master's classes. I am not sad about having a quiet weekend!

  • I feel like I don't really get a weekend this week :(

Today: Had a rough class this morning, and I really don't feel like to to find something for dinner out of the pantry nor do I feel like grocery shopping so I'm going to try to convince H to go out for dinner, and take tonight for me to not worry about work.

Saturday: Teaching my 2nd grade religious ed class, then running to my mom's house for lunch, then babysitting immediately after lunch until probably after 11 pm (her mom is working and her dad is a volleyball coach- his last match doesn't start til 7pm, so it will be a late evening).

Sunday: Finish any grading I didn't get to while the girl was sleeping on Saturday (4 classes took a math test and all of those classes just turned in the entire week's homework packet). Plus I have to read 3 books (early chapter books) for my Wednesday night grad class. And I need to find time to go grocery shopping.

Luckily, the weekend after this weekend is a 3 day weekend. Yay for Columbus Day!

  • Tonight I am sitting on the couch and grading 4 classes worth of reading quizzes (newstart, I feel for you!).

Honestly, I have no idea what we are doing this weekend beyond the typical cleaning, laundry, food shopping, etc.  I am looking forward to a quiet weekend!

  • Tonight:  Worked until after 6 and then went out to dinner with DH, mom, and my aunt who came in town today.  It was fun and we laughed a lot and I needed it after a rough week!

Tomorrow: Cleaning, laundry, and the subdivision/neighborhood block party.  This is the first one we have attended since we just moved here in January.  It should be fun. Let's hope the weather is as nice as it is right now.

Sunday: I am having my mom, bro, SIL, and nephew over.  DH isn't too excited about it b.c. we have to do a lot of cleaning but I haven't seen my nephew in two weeks and then it was for a short time. I cleaned and did laundry and grocery shopping and all that the two Sundays prior to this weekend so I am do for a fun one!!

    Go Cardinals!!!

  • Friday: I ran errands and packed a little today. I also covered football (my alma mater) as my last story for now...I'm not hooked up with a new paper yet.

Saturday: Picking up the moving truck and loading up. Then a little BBQ with friends and family to say goodbye.

Sunday: We leave first thing in the morning....ugh. We're stopping in Reno to see some of our college friends for breakfast and then the long haul really starts.

Wish me luck! Next time I'm here, I'll be on the East coast...eek.
