A vent post IHO Brandie & the dead squirrel
Anybody need a good vent before the weekend?
Twin boys due 7/25/12
Re: A vent post IHO Brandie & the dead squirrel
Yes please.
I've vented about FIL here before; well the in-laws came for a visit last weekend, and what happened is still irritating me. I avoided conversation with FIL as much as I possibly could, but he said something, and I couldn't hold back. I won't go into the whole thing here, but the conversation ended with him insulting my education and intelligence and with me calling him ignorant.
H didn't really say anything through the whole thing, and when we were alone we had a talk about that. He said that I was doing a good job defending myself (which I was, I'll give him that), but I told him that because of the way his dad is, what I say means next to nothing; it has to come from H's mouth that FIL is being rude and disrespectful. Thankfully, H understood and agreed.
Kudos to you if you made it through that.
I posted earlier about the money thing, but I'm seriously pissed about it. I should have taken into account all the stuff he had to buy so we wouldn't be getting alot of money. I had some fun stuff planned for the weekend that isn't happening anymore which sucks big time.
Not necessarily a vent, but I'm really worried for A because he is apparently having this bad breathing problems at basic and the doctors think it could be asthma which would get him kicked out. His recruiters, my mom, and I all don't believe it's asthma as he's never once had a problem with his breathing before he went into basic. His X-rays are 100% clear and he had a special test Monday, but I don't know when he gets the results back from that. I really want him to get better.
DD is only 16 months old and is already trying to give up all naps. She doesn't even get fussy without them, it's just that I want a BREAK so take a nap!!
I'm sick of people using the indoor track at the gym and walking in the run lane. I don't want to adjust my speed to politely excuse myself so you can walk 4 deep with your friends. I'm going to start smacking right into people I swear to effing jeezus.
DH always comes home from work and turns the TV on to cartoons for DD. Yes, DH, that's a perfect way to spend time with her every day. She should start watching TV all the time now, right?
I think that's it.
You have to institute quiet time, yo! I fear the day of no more naps.
Our yard looks like sh!t and my back is starting to hurt. I thought I could make it through the pregnancy without back pain. And I DESPISE sh!tty looking yards. We don't live in the ghetto.
This has taken a turn towards nosy old homeowner vents, so I'll add one. Since May, someone in the apartment building across from our house has left their pickup truck parked at the end of my driveway.
-The apartment building has its own parking lot.
-The truck is a monster truck. Tires the size of my Subaru and it's SPRAY PAINTED. SPRAY PAINTED, people!! It's white on top, and the bottom parts of the doors are black, and there are no even lines in the paint. It's an eye sore and it's directly outside my house.
-Neighbors keep stopping by to ask if we plan on moving our truck.
-It's been there SINCE MAY. MAY!!! It's not ours!
We got a long term house guest and in an effort to arrange decent parking, Joe finally went and tracked down the owner. He moved it 20 feet up the street, so it's now parked next to another crappy car that hasn't moved an inch since we moved here in May.
#Donate your effing cars to Goodwill.
I hate C's shop. I love the job he's doing, the schedule he has and the life we have here, but I hate the d-bags he works with. They are hypocritical, self-centered, judgmental and immature. Mostly I hate that C dreads going to work everyday because it means working with them; he loves teaching, he enjoys his students and feels he is doing a lot of good in his position. It angers me that the "good ol' boy" club has singled him out as a "loser" and a "shitbag" when he does his best to be a team player.
I also have to whine a little bit that everytime I make a new friend at this base, they move away. I mean, I know its part of the lifestyle, but can I meet just one woman who is just getting here rather than just leaving?!?! lol
Ojo - I'd call the PD or Sherrif's office if they're on the street. They'll normally monitor for a few weeks to see if the vehicles are in use and if not, they eventually get impounded.
J put both of us on a really strict budget so that we could pay off bills a lot faster. Which is great, I'm glad to reduce the debt, but by the end of the week he always has no spending money, while I still have like ten dollars. So our weekends are spent watching stupid stuff on the tv or cleaning for the fourth weekend in a row. I wish he'd either set ten dollars aside so we could go to a movie or allow a date night in the budget so that I didn't feel so chained to the house. I've brought it up, but since his spending control sucks and he is proud of his budget, things are still the same.
We dog-sat for some friends of J's this week and their dog was horrible. They told us at the beginning that they'd pay us for taking him (since they were in a tight spot) and then they picked him up and didn't give us the money and didn't say thanks for taking him. They used us, and J lets them use us a lot...it is starting to get old.
I'm really annoyed today but every time I type out why it just seems like a dumb reason to be so worked up.

Does the truck ever move? Like the person takes it to work during the day, etc. Are there any ordinances in your area about the maximum amount of time something can be parked in one spot on the street? Some places have those rules and the time period is as short as 3 days.
Eff that. Tell them that the truck needs to be moved this weekend or it's getting towed. Even if you have to pay the bill it'll be worth it to have the truck gone.
My vent is that I'm EXHAUSTED. Almost full-time graduate work, full time teaching, and parenting is kicking my butt this week. I really enjoy being busy, but I feel like I need at least four or five more hours in the day so I can keep up with everything.
