Calcium vitamins

I've tried a few brands of calcium vitamins, but they all make my stomach hurt really bad about 10 minutes after I take them. The pain eventually goes away, but it's pretty awful for 30 minutes.

Does anyone have any recs for calcium that's a little easier on your stomach?

Re: Calcium vitamins

  • I used to eat the Viactiv chews.  I never had issues with them upsetting my stomach.
  • We have been buying the chewables from TJ's.  Also i can't take any (non-chewable/dissolving) vitamin without food without feeling sick.

  • I'll have to give the chewables a whirl.

    Thanks!

  • My stomach does not tolerate much. I do better with things that are low dose. You have to take more in a day to get the regular amount. I take less. I figure getting a little is better than taking more... and getting an upset stomach.

Nature's Way - Cal Mag Zinc (says take 3, 2x day). I usually take one after a meal and one before I go to bed. That gets me to 1/3 of what the bottle says I should take. I figure that I get the rest through food (organic milk, yogurt, cheese... and Ben & Jerry's).
