Good Morning

Seriously? I'm doing the good morning thread? Wow, this board has died. What's everyone up to this weekend?

Not much here. I'll probably be doing a lot of baking. The weather is cold and rainy, and I don't feel like going outside. On the agenda is pumpkin ravioli, pumpkin bread,  butternut squash risotto, french onion soup and chinese buns.

Re: Good Morning

  • Good morning!  We're just relaxing today.. Is it weird that I wish it was cold and rainy here?  I know it won't be long before it is, but with no AC in the house it's getting freakin' hot in here.  I could barely sleep last night I was so hot.

And?  The food you're making sounds so delicious.  I want!

  • I completely understand. The last couple of days have been gorgeous here, and I've had the windows open during the day (we don't have AC either). Last night I went to bed and it was too hot to sleep, and this morning I woke up freezing! The weather in Scotland is unpredictable I guess.

    Thank you!

  • Morning! I've had a lovely morning so far--finished re-reading Heidi while I sipped my tea and watched the sunshine creep into the room. Now have also done some laundry. Once DH is up, we're going to try to take a walk somewhere and appreciate this gorgeous weather.

That said, I concur with others that it is a wee bit too warm with no AC. We had the fan on in our bedroom last night and that (and no morning sun in that room) helped keep that area cool, but the rest of the house is quite warm already and it's only 10. The obvious solution is to vacate and enjoy the sun outside!

  • Good morning! It's gorgeous here today, in the low 80s. DH and I will be having a lazy weekend in. It's our first opportunity to do nothing since the American wedding on August 12th. We're both exhausted. I just hope nobody decides to visit! We're finding this is the bad thing about living near the beach.

Mom and Dad fly in on Friday so I need to get my act together in terms of helping them out with tourist ideas and clean this house. I'm a bit sad, since I have a ridiculous work schedule and I won't be able to see them that much even though they've come so far. It'll be a long week. Hanging out with them in the evening, having dinner, than coming back here and trying to plan class. The Spanish wedding is two weeks from today and there's so much I need to do, too! As long as I can shake this cold, I'll be ok.

  • Afternoon! We're being lazy today, too. After going to bed early DH and I slept in then cuddled for a bit. Was so nice because we haven't had time to do that a long time. Made waffles for breakfast, goofed off and played with the little guy, and then had an impromptu outing with the landlord. Our favorite grill closed so he took us around our town getting more menus, samples from one of his favorite places, and some local fresh-baked cheese bread. Now the little guy and the big guy (DH) are down for naps. I'm going to finish a tv episode, hydrate, and then do a yoga dvd.

Would love to know what we're going to do the rest of the day but the malls are off-limits (potential demonstrations) and DH is being all "I don't know". Guess it will default to a grocery run where BabyD will play with the car cart, making butternut squash soup for dinner, and trying my hand at some baked donuts.

You literally could not make a list more suited to my tastes.  That sounds amazing
