As if I didn't feel bad enough
I emailed a home day care provider. One of the questions I asked her was whether she would accept an infant at 6 weeks since that unfortunately is when I'll have to go back to work. Her response: "No, 6 weeks is much too young for day care; at that age you really should make other arrangements." Yeah, thanks. Like I'd really be leaving my baby with strangers if I had other options.
Re: As if I didn't feel bad enough
Well you can just tick her off your list! What a biotch thing to say to you. Even if you did have other options and longer maternity leave some women choose to leave their children in daycare from an early age.
I hope you find another less judgmental home daycare situation that works out for you soon! I'm just surprised she said that...instead of just saying that no, they don't accept babies as young as 6 weeks.
2012 Reading Challenge
Phooey on her. Our new baby will have to go to daycare at 6 weeks, which is the youngest this center takes them. Is her idea of other arrangements taking the baby to work with you? Because that is so not feasible.
