ISO a Christmas Charity

I know it's early, but Im trying to plan ahead.  DH and I don't have much but would like to give this year.  We are hoping to find an organization we can "adopt" a senior citizen to buy for.

Does anyone have a favorite charity we can do this?

What was your experience with this been like?

Re: ISO a Christmas Charity

  • Several years ago, I organized a charity drive for my MOMS club. I called Clermont County Senior Services and asked what they needed. (Needs change, so make sure you ask. That year, they asked for a lot of socks and personal care items such as shampoo, etc.) Then I sent out emails to my community distribution list, made fliers, etc. and spent a month collecting items for the Senior Services volunteers to put into care packages.

It didn't cost much, and it wound up benefiting a lot of seniors. I don't know what your schedule is like, but you could consider doing something like that.
