Re: I think that I'm in love
Answer my questions:
Doesn't B&N use Android apps, too? I wonder if one can root the Fire like they can the Color or can it only be used with stuff purchased thru Amazon? Find this out, will ya?
Listen lady, I'm not answering your questions on FB and I'm not answering them here either!
HA!!! I have no clue. I'm going to have to look into it further.
So, since I'm dumb with this stuff, if we used it in our home and have wireless then we would just be using that, right? It pretty much just works like a laptop? But if we used it while we were out or in the car driving somewhere then you would just have to hope that there is a random free wireless network that it could connect too? And if not, then your SOL? And you obviously have to pay for everything you get on there, the movies, shows, books, etc? I know I see offers for "free kindle downloads" sometimes, but otherwise you have to buy everything? And if you did buy a movie, then can you watch it even if you don't have internet access?
I guess I'm thinking of this more as for an entertainment purpose for my kid instead of lugging around the DVD player for things.
I have the basic kindle so I can sort of answer your questions.
If you get the kindle with just Wi-Fi you have to have a wireless network you can connect to. That is the one I have so I am connected to our home wireless network so I just load it up before I go anywhere. Anytime you can connect your laptop, you should be able to connect your kindle. If you get the one with 3G it works kind of like a smartphone and you can connect almost anywhere. It looks like it works at AT&T's network.
I have bought 1 book so far. They have quite a few free books and are now working with the Omaha library (which I haven't tried yet). I browse the top 100 free books: http://tinyurl.com/3dkzq9e
