Happy Saturday!

What does everyone have going on today?

I had therapy this morning, and right now Myles is napping so I'm enjoying some grown up time.

I started Advocare's 24 day cleanse today. The Co-teacher I like and I are doing it together. I'm hoping it'll be useful in helping me clean up my diet.

Tonight's dinner is Kaesha's Eggplant and Sausage Pasta :)

Re: Happy Saturday!

  • Woo! I hope you like it. We've had it like 5 times in the past 3 weeks.

I'm just schlepping around in sweats right now. My parents swung by earlier and dropped off 5 boxes of books at our place. They woke up at 3 am to drive down here for 9 am just to do it! Anyway, I made them breakfast and we had some killer creme brulee french toast casserole. We've decided it's totally going on the Christmas morning menu.

So now I have to find room for all of these things. That's going to mean totally reorganizing our bookcases (they're in alphabetical order via genre) to make room for everything.

Really though, my plan is to read a bunch of books that I picked up at the library yesterday. They're all in the urban fantasy/romance genre, so I'm excited to get into a few new series.

We're looking at hitting up some of the art installations on the outskirts of our zone, so we can avoid the drunk & high university kids.

  • It's gonna be a busy and long day. V is singing in his friend's sister's wedding at 2:45 (he agreed to it before we knew). Then we're heading uptown to his friend's wedding at 4. After the ceremony we'll be dropping him off at my parents, and then coming back to the reception. Oy. I hope the little guy can handle such a long day.

  • Not much going on today. Probably just chilling and doing a weeks worth of dinner prep so that we actually eat home cooked meals next week. Get some laundry done. I'd love to bake some oatmeal bars, so maybe that.
I think today is just going to be lazy. Got to say though, I love that there is a Happy Saturday post, Thanks FMO!!!

  • Happy Saturday all.  It's already been a busy day for me.  I woke up early this morning, in time to watch the England v Scotland rugby game - gotta keep up with it or else I won't have any idea what people are talking about Monday morning!

Then I did our meal plan and ordered groceries for the next few weeks, before getting my eyebrows threaded (much needed) and then riding over to meet some local nesties for lunch and drinks.  It's a hot and muggy day out, but it was nice to cycle through the park.  I cycled back and just got back from an acupuncture appointment.  I'm just relaxing now before a friend comes over to watch Bridesmaids!

Oh, but on the way back from lunch, the strap on my flip flop broke, so I ended up having to hobble down the street with one bare foot after I dropped the bike off. I felt bad at acupuncture, because she massages my feet and they were rotten dirty.  Then I had to walk back home with one shoe!  It sucks, because I loved those flipflops, but I'm afraid they're beyond repair.

  • Well, the day didn't start off as I had hoped.  We woke up to find that Rex had puked all over the house, so we carted him off to the vet.  $486 dollars later for blood work, x-rays, a bunch of saline sub-q so he doesn't get dehydrated and some anti-nausea medicine, we are back home.  Jim is kind of irritated that it cost so much, so I'm kind of laying low, since he's feeling snappish.

I'm afraid the vet expense means I won't get the date I wanted today, which makes me sad.  I always plan everything we do and usually I don't care, but we are either busy or I'm out of town for the next 6 weekends and I wanted to do something fun that I didn't have to plan.

  • I did not get out of bed until 11:00am Embarrassed It was nice to sleep in, Rockie had an upset tummy and woke me up several times.  Now I am watching Mad Men on Netflix in my sweats thinking about I should be doing homework instead.

  • Ed let me sleep in a bit today while he got up with the dogs.  Then I lazed around and watched Grey's on DVR and made pumpkin chocolate chip cookies for the beer and chocolate party we are going to tonight.  Then I got in a short (crappy) run and went grocery shopping for the week.  Now I am lounging until it is time to head to the party around 5.

  • Hi! Was hoping to sleep in more today, but a chirping bird woke me up and it was hopeless after that. We got back from the gym a while ago and are now getting ready to go bed hunting. I'm not as enthused as I could be because it's gloomy and rainy, but it needs to get done.

We'll be eating out tonight after bed shopping and before grocery shopping--not sure where, but I could go for some Thai. I guess we'll see!

  • Our sleepover with our niece and nephew didn't go as well as planned.  They had a good time but at bedtime my nephew (who is fine) turned all whiny and wanted to go home.  Never expressed that until that moment.  Tried to have them watch some more tv but ultimately their parents came to pick them up.

This morning I slept until 9am.  I was still feeling really exhausted, in part I think to being up at 2:30 on Thursday night and 4am on Friday night, so I laid back down at 11:30.  I ended up sleeping until 1:30.  I'm still pretty tired but we managed to get out and test drive a Journey.  We're leaving for church in a few minutes and then maybe just watching a movie tonight.

  • Late to the game - but I slept in this morning after staying up on an epic phone call with my brother who is going through a dirty divorce. He's been so tense lately, it was nice to get him on a calm level and just talk.

Today we did errands, then headed downtown to use a groupon for wine tasting, then dinner and watching Jerry Seinfeld live! It was great :)

And I came home to three boxes of fiestaware dishes on my doorstep!
