Can I have a pity party?
Hi Ladies,
So on the up-side, I'm back from Paris... which was beautiful (last weekend). I generally try not to whine, life's good-- sure, H & I have our cranky moments, or work drives me nuts, etc but, generally, I'm lucky for the people and opportunities in my life. But I am not feeling it today.
The day I got back, I found out about- without getting into all gory details, two horrible incidents-- a serious DUI (not that they're not all serious, but this was particularly bad) and a 15yr old's date rape.
It's literally surreal. I'd ask for vibes, thoughts, prayers, etc for those directly involved and the good sense and judgment to say and do helpful things for those of us on the sidelines.
Of lesser import, but still pretty serious to me, Lucy (our dog) is ill. Blood in her poop and projectile vomiting (4x this morning). We took her to the vet last night and he said probably bad water at the kennel (while we were away) and not to worry (gave us some antibiotics, but she can't keep 'em down). Easier said than done! Wish I could get her to be able to hold down the antibiotics-- I know that sounds freaky, but I'd feel like at least we were making progress toward her getting better. So if you've got extra pet-vibes, we'd also appreciate those.
To top it off-- I turn 35 today. I'm kidding, that's not actually a complaint! Believe me, this week has put alot into perspective, and another year, is hardly a problem. But I am pretty bummed to be starting a "new" year feeling so crappy.
Anyway, thanks for reading this book! Hope that things are well in all of your corners of the world.

Everyone has those days and it's completely okay to throw a pity party when necessary. I'm sending you a virtual martini and lots of vibes to help you out!
Really though, that is a lot to deal with all at once. I hope your dog starts feeling better soon -- I know how tough it is to watch them suffer and feel there's nothing you can do to help.
