Anyone ever taken the BCP Lo Loestrin Fe?

If so did you have periods while you were on it?  It only has two days of inactive pills so I'm curious.  So far I have not but I just completed the first pill pack.
My big boy is bounding towards 3! Hoping to add a sibling. image Hipster dog is not impressed.

Re: Anyone ever taken the BCP Lo Loestrin Fe?

  • I have been on lo loestrin since around May.  I have not had a period since I have been on it.  Not even spotting or anything.  But, I don't know if this is "normal".  I just had a baby in January and I never had a period before I started back on bcp.  My nurse told me that women usually stop having periods after using Lo Loestrin for a period of time.
  • Im on Loestrin 24fe and have been on it for about 2yrs.  I have had little to no period.  I LOVE this bcp.. I dont have cramps or anything with it.
  • She's asking about Lo Lo Estrin which is different than Lo Estrin 24 with Fe.

The drug rep says that most women on Lo Lo don't have periods.  :)

  • I take Loestrin, but the regular one (not the "Lo" version).  I don't have any periods at all, and each month has 4 placebo pills.  I love it.
  • I did and did not like it. It always made me feel and look bloated and I really think it had alot to do with my cystic acne.
  • I'm taking it. I just started though. I'm still on my 1st pack, so I can't really answer your question from experience but my OB told me I probably wouldn't have much of a period.

HOWEVER, I was like 6 hours late taking the pill one day in week 2 and had my period for like 4 hours. It was so weird. Called the doctor's office and nurse said "unless you're hemorrhaging  where you have to change a pad every 30 minutes,  it's fine." So, just as an FYI!

I had the same thing happen in the middle of my first pack, spotting I mean. I just started my second pack yesterday.  I don't recall the Dr. mentioning anything about periods and I didn't think to ask.  Then I was confused because it has two days of no hormones, what is the point of that?  Why not just take it continually like some of the other brands?

To the PP re: skin and bloating, so far (and I say that with great trepidation because I tend to have to eat my words on this subject) my skin is looking GREAT on this BCP.  I feel fat and bloated but I think that's because I AM fat and bloated when I don't work out, which I haven't been. • I've been on Loestrin 24 Fe (not Lo Lo) for four plus years and have not had a cycle or pre-menstrual symptoms while on the pill. If I remember correctly, early on I may have had light break through bleeding but never a full out cycle. Also, early on if I missed a day I may see break through bleeding. My ob says this is normal while on this pill. It took a while to adjust to the no periods and I actually freaked the first few months but now I'm use to it. I have no complaints about the pill and now actually like not having a period. I do wonder what my cycle will be like once I go off the pill...
