Re: BR: Name Poll
Cut the Crap - Weight loss journey of a Few Fat Chicks
Liam is a super trendy name right now, so I personally would not want to use it. I do really like Liam, though.
I voted Will--I think it's cute as a little boy, and is a nickname that "grows" with a kid (appropriate for a boy/man of any age). Also, it MAKES SENSE as a nickname, because it is the first syllable of the full name--so for those reasons, it is my favorite.
Not a fan of Bill/Billy.

Thanks Ladies - you all validated me
I like Will (or William). I do not like Bill or Billy. DH thinks Bill/Billy are "stronger". I threw Liam in there not so much b/c it's part of the name (second syllable) but because it's the Gaelic word for "William". I know it's trendy, which I hate, because I've loved it for a long time (Aidan too until the Brayden/Caeden/Jayden/Blahblahblahden debacle
)
I have to show DH this poll now
Life of mrsjanks
Yea, we went into having Jane with Jane Beatrice as the girl name and then the boy name had William as the mn. We could still do that but you never use the mn and I really like the idea of honoring my Dad - - if only we could agree on what to call the kid (Will vs. Bill). Alas, IF we have a boy (big if, the last 5 babies in my family have been girls!) we'll at least do it as a mn.
This is one of the names that DH and I are debating if we have a boy. We are both pretty committed to using family names. DH is a third, but doesn't want a fourth - so he'll be insistent on the middle name of pinkney, which is fine. However, he really likes William which is very strong multiple generations ago in his family. I really like Jonathan, which is still strong in his family, but can also honor my grandfather John. Part of my problem with William is that I don't really like the nn's and can't fathom calling a young child William.
So, with all that in mind, I picked Liam, but my second choice would be Will.
