If you are on FB then you have seen these but I wanted to share.
Today my mom, sister and I ran the Warrior Dash. It is 3.56 miles with 8 obstacles.
I went over short walls and then under barbed wire 5 times
Through swinging tires
through tires on the ground, over 4 wrecked cars and then some more tires
Went chest deep in muddy water and over 3 floating logs
bear crawled across a rope net
Then
there was the balance beam obstacle but it went zig zagged up and down
over a wall
with a huge drop on the other side, then another wall that went straight
up - you has to hoist your own body weight up with a rope, but they had good foot
holds and then over the top to the
ground (this is where I fell)
then you had to wade through river water that was about thigh deep
(and in places much deeper!)
another rope wall and then you had to
jump over 2 sets of fire logs followed by the
deadman's crawl under barbwire (and in a lot of mud!) to the finish line!
It was AWESOME! and I want to do it again next year.
Now the pictures that you have been waiting for. (I grabbed the rope at the top of the wall and it wasn't secured at the top, fell about 10 feet and hit the wall with my left ribcage and boob)
The 3 big bruises. I have others on my knees and shins.
And some cuteness

Re: First race since the baby (pip)
Ouuuuuccchhhhh!!!!!
I'm really tempted to sign up for a mud run! We have a few of them out here each year, but I don't want to ruin my tennies!
That sounds exciting! (all except the running through water. I wouldn't enjoy that very much.)
How apologetic/scared they were going to get sued were the race people about you falling off the rope?
Curly -I wore an old pair of cross trainers, not my good running shoes. It isn't a race for time because most of the time you have to stop and wait to cross an obstacle. Then at the end of the race you can throw the muddy shoes in a pile to be cleaned and donated. By noon it was probably 4 feet tall and 5 feet across - mine went in too - I wasn't washing them!
Wendell - The mud was the best part! Go ahead and try it!
Liz - I signed my life away before I ran the race - they weren't liable for me doing something stupid (which in hindsight it was). I was supposed to be climbing down the 2x4's but I grabbed the rope that I used to climb up the other side
Front - not my pictures
