Anyone have any tips or tricks for getting their house to smell better??
We've been in the same apartment for 3 years and when it gets humid it STILL smells like smoke from the people before us. Plus, the dog and the rain have left behind a nice dog smell. =(
Hubby wants to sprinkle stuff on the carpet, but I don't really like that idea. I don't really want to cover up the smell, I want it to go away! We gave the pup a bath with bed head stuff and I'm thinking the rugs just need a good shampoo. Anything else?
TIA!
Re: Neutralizing house odor
I know I'm late answering this, but put a few inches of water in a slow cooker (if you have one of those little dipper ones, they work perfect), add enough baking soda to cover the bottom or an inch or so depending on how bad the smell is, and turn in on low. It will absorb all the odor in the air. You can even add a few drops of essential oil or some potpourri to the water if you want. I do this all the time and it works like a charm.
I hope you find something that works for you...smoke smell if awful!
