Question: Has anyone had luck with sofa recovering? Any companies you can recommend? Needs to either be near Beltsville or willing to pick-up/deliver.
We have a very light, stone colored, microfiber section that looks a lot like this

Unfortunately it's got lots of water ring-type stains and just looks dingy around the edges - especially with a dog that spend a good amount of time sleeping on the couch.
It's super comfy and I'd love to just recover it rather than buy a whole new set - plus it's only 7 years old which seems rather too new to replace due to wear and tear. However, if it's gonna cost me just as much as a new couch or if my only options are slip covers then I guess we'll just bite the bullet and start sofa shopping.
It's from Macy's Home - no idea the exact brand - if it matters.
Re: Couch recovering rec?
Sofa reupholstering is a pricey endeavor. I wouldn't get it done unless it's a piece that is important to you. Especially a sofa of that size is going to be particularly expensive, unless you get dirt cheap fabric.
I got a sofa reupholstered (PIP below) that belonged to my great-great aunt. It seems to have a bit less area than your sofa, we used a mid-price fabric, and it cost around $1500.
That being said, if it is something you want to do, I went with Yi's Upholstery in Rockville and they were great. They pick up and deliver.
SUCK! I was afraid it would be very expensive (we have a big ottoman, too).
So a follow up, what about sofa repair/cleaning? Like I said, there are no huge, dark stains - it's just overall rather dingy with several water ring looking spots.
We have an offwhite microfiber sofa and a really drooly dog. Our best friend thus far has been SmartChoice Cleaning for upholstery refreshing.

If they quote you $250 or more, you can buy a $250 cert for $200 through Yelp (this plus the reviews sealed it for us, we had our small recliner sofa and some area rugs done for this price).

Also, we use Oxyclean diluted 3:1 with water and a washcloth to spot treat in between.
Stand up for something you believe in.
