Hmmm...would you paint it?

Dh and I found a bed on Craigslist this weekend and got it for $175 ( you may remember I was workshopping the idea of building my own, and for this price I figured it was worth it for a pre-made).

It is black, which is the same color we are painting our nightstands and dresser.  We want to get it set up right away because its a better bed than we have now, BUT we really think we want to paint it to match the nightstand/dresser.

The black on the bed is a different shade than what we're using for the other furniture, scuffed, and doesn't have that "hand-painted" look, because its been professionally painted (obvs).

Would you set it up to have the super-cool new bed right away, or wait and paint it?

And if it helps your decision, based on the size and our schedules, it may be 6 weeks before we have this baby painted and ready.

Re: Hmmm...would you paint it?

  • I wouldn't be able to wait the 6 weeks. I say, don't paint it and get that baby set up ASAP. Plus, I like when things are the same color, but off a little in their shade. Good Luck deciding!

  • I would set it up now.  Plus, once you have everything set-up you might not notice the color difference!  This has happened to me a few times and I was so glad that I didn't spend time re-painting.

I agree! And if you DO notice a dif, you could always just touch up the scuffed spots while it's still intact and set up.
