Did you see the post about flying with twins? http://community.thenest.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/58644038.aspx Thought you might like to chime in. x

Re: *Tofumonkey*

  • Cheers.

FYI, I resisted the strong urge to tell my friend's pukarama London to New Zealand twin flight horror story.

And it was a very strong urge.

I don't know about everyone else, but I check out any thread that has "toufmonkey" either in the title or as the last poster.  I love your stories; they are always a bright spot in my days.  :)

I love #1. It makes me smile.

Can we hear the pukarama story, even if travel twinsies cannot? :)

  • Well, it's not my story so I'm a bit fuzzy on the details, but a friend of ours ( Kiwi ), flew from London to Auckland NZ alone (insane) with her 1.5 year old twin boys and 3 year old daughter.

On the first leg of the flight to Singapore apparently all the twins did was puke and all the 3 year old did was scream about the puke. They ran out of clothing by hour 5. Strangers and flight attendants took pity on her and held her vomit covered children while she scraped sick off of clothes in the bathroom so she could put them back on the kids.

On hour 8 they ran out of diapers. The diharrhea started. The flight attendants moved her vomit covered clan to the back of the plane and unofficially dedicated a washroom to them.

They arrived in Singapore, bought new clothes, diapers, wipes, stomach settlers, etc. cleaned out the puke filled car seats and then got on another plane to NZ. The twins screamed nearly the entire way.

My friend has vowed never to fly without her husband again. Ever. She also now brings plastic garbage bags with her whenever she travels. Like, a whole pack.

  • See? It's not even funny. Just horrifying.

I'd love to get the funny details from her one day ( did they puke on anybody? Was there back splash? Did anyone else puke? What kind of comments did she get? ) but she's not at the point yet where she can laugh at the experience.

  • Holy crap! What a nightmare flight. Your poor friend. I would never fly again with a child if that ever happened to me.

If ever you get the funny details, you must share!

  • Wow. I feel so badly for her. Hopefully she was able to separate her mind from what was happening; I don't know how else you survive that.

And bravo for awesome flight attendants and nice neighbors--they really can make all the difference on a flight.
