Re: Momma check in!

  • Our fun adventure is that we're leaving C with my mom this weekend to go to NYC for 3 days. I'm taking Tuesday (our anniversary) off so I can be with him since I'll have been away from him (and to give my mom a break).

Next weekend we're going to the pumpkin patch! Last year we just went to one in a parking lot, this year we're going to a big one since he can do stuff. I just want more cider donuts! He probably does too - I gave him an 1/8 of one weeks ago and he won't stop saying "doooooonut".

A fun thing he does lately is sing, he sings "Kumbaya", "rain, rain, go away" and "Day O"over and over!! He wakes up singing them!

What pumpkin patch are you going to? There's a huge farmers market out in Winchester we're planning on taking her to. The 22nd is their Pumpkin Festival, and you can pick a pumpkin straight off the vine if you want.

This week if the weather lets up we're going to the zoo! She's become so much more aware of everything recently that it should be lots of fun.

  • I think we're also going to the pumpkin patch this weekend. Obviously, Bridget won't be able to appreciate our outing but I'll have fun taking her picture.

Knock on wood, we've been doing a little better lately with the reflux and gas problems. Hopefully the Zantac is helping. Sleep stretches have gotten a little longer, which is nice.

  • R had one of her infamous unexplained fevers over the weekend, poor thing. We still made it to the fair Sunday, though, she loves farm animals. We were in the goat tent for ages.

We're at my parents' until Wednesday, I think. We're going to try the local Children's museum tomorrow if it rains. If it's nice maybe the farm. In the past week she has started saying key, outside, slide, and all done (I call that a good week!) and shakes her head yes or no in response to questions....usually in the right context. I'm impressed. She also has started reaching for our hand when walking in public instead of the screaming meltdown that used to occur when we tried to grab her. I'll take it!

  • i think we're going to go to an apple orchard on saturday (we were supposed to go last saturday, but it was soooo cold and windy!).  Laine started solids! She wasn't really into cereal, so i just started giving her sweet potatoes...bananas were next and avocados today!!! it's been a lot of fun seeing her go crazy for food lol she looks at me like, "where has this been my whole life??!!"

she's also babbling constantly and is sitting up reallllly well!

  • We went to the pumpkin patch last weekend and she also had her first hayride, lol.  We will carve her pumpkin this coming weekend.  She has her first cold Sad I feel so bad - she is really congested/flemy (is flemy a word?) I've been using the humidfier, vicks, and propping up her mattress - I hope it gets better soon.

She has been doing well at physical therapy too and we've been working with her a ton at home to hopefully bypass a helmet.
