Did anyone do anything fun this weekend?

I didn't even get what I wanted to do finished because I got a massively intense migraine.  I'm currently having a neural hangover, trying to find quiet/ dark in my office.

Re: Did anyone do anything fun this weekend?

  • Nope, not really, Just hung out at home. Hogs won, so that made all the people happy.
  • We decided to spend the majority of the weekend at home...after traveling last week and being sick at the end of it, it was just nice to be home and enjoy it.

I did get a massage on Saturday because I had a gift certificate..since I wasn't paying for it, I decided to try a hot stone massage which I think was super over-rated. I'd go back to regular or deep tissue massage next time.

We also went apple picking and made apple crisp. It wasn't that crowded which was nice..probably because the weather wasn't great. But we didn't care and the cider doughnuts were awesome.

That night, we hung out, watched a couple of episodes of Rescue Me on DVR and made salmon which we ate over big salads. Good stuff.

Sunday we did laundry and then took turns scrubbing our tub which was woefully ignored. It looks awesome now. Then we watched the Pats game and made a pizza. We pretty much stayed in our PJs all day and got stuff done around the house.

  • Hope you feel better, Mary!

I visited some friends in my home town in CT and had a brush with reality-star fame, which was pretty exciting.  Anyone catch the new season of Real World <spoiler alert below>?  I haven't watched it in years and didn't even know that a new season just started, but it turns out the blonde girl Ashley is from the town next to me, and is friends with a friend of mine, D.  Most of my friends who still live there know her because she runs in the same circles and used to bartend at one of the local hangouts.

Anyway, Ashley met us at the bar so she could catch up with D, and she was with <<spoiler alert>> her now boyfriend Zach, who is also on the show.  Holy hotness, batman, this man is fine.  We hung out with them for an hour or so, chatted a bit about the show, who they like, who they don't like, etc.  They are actually pretty down to earth, and super giddy/in puppy-love stage.  Of course, on Saturday I then had to watch the first episode, and now I'm probably sucked in for the rest of the season.  It was quite the unexpected trip back home to what is usually a pretty boring town!

I came back Saturday and enjoyed some girl time while H was in NH golfing with friends.  Chick flicks and shrimp scampi, FTW!

  • I painted Sawyer's room and we got his furniture arranged. Spent this morning folding and hanging clothes with my mom. I'm ready for January!!
  • Sorta kinda. We mostly hibernated this weekend because of the sucky cold weather. On Saturday I made home made chicken soup and brownies and we watched Bridesmaids.

Sunday, Buddy graduated from his obedience class and we went to Lowes to get our new deep freezer, so now I can put soup in there, and Christmas cookies, and buy a ham and turkey for Christmas Eve.

  • This weekend was awesome, but incredibly exhausting.  Had a blast with my family though.

Friday we went to the Columbine Memorial, then went downtown and had lunch.  We were supposed to tour Coors Field, but apparently they randomly decided to close that day.  So we just walked around, hit up a couple mirco brews, then headed home.

Saturday we went up to Fort Collins (like the microbrew capital of the world), hit up 5 different mircobrews and did a ton of different tastings.  My dad and uncle had a blast.

Sunday we went up to Estes Park and drove Trail Ridge Road through Rocky Mountian National Park.  We got back WAY late, but it was beautiful up there this time of year.

I posted lots of pics on FB if you haven't seen them yet!  I had a little too much fun with my DSLR taking pics of some of the beer and the Columbine Memorial.  So glad I spent the money on that camera, it's been so worth it!

  • Now that I actually have a moment to stop and think.... Friday night I was up with a sick Samma, so sick in fact I had to drive her around at 2am for a good half hour to get her to fall asleep.  Saturday was a miserable rainy day, so we had a PJ day in.  Sunday we went apple picking.  And then Monday, I finally caught Samma's sickness and was stuck in bed, so bad in fact that I had to ship Sam off to MIL's house for the afternoon because the fever was just rendering me immobile.  Was not good times.

  • Work was ok, we are definitely slowing down. I can't wait to close!!

Saturday was the last day open for the shop Matt manages, so I hung out there with a few co-workers (my restaurant and this shop are owned by the same person), and ate and had fun getting some free stuff because they were just throwing it away anyway.

We sold my moms car, so I cleaned it out on Sunday while the Reskins won! I went to do mine next because I was in the mood, and it didn't start... boo... so I called my dad, got it puttering enough to drive it over to where I got it fixed in April (hopefully they don't charge me since the part that was defective was the one they just put in).

Monday was all about shopping for Baby B things!! We are so close to the nursery being done! But I feel like I walked a million miles and my hips/feet/ankles hurt so bad. We got a really amazing rocker... so I sit in it all the time now. :)
